I've seen Metallica and lars in concert more times then you've probably listened to any Metallica CD/Album. Ask any Metallica fan that saw them in the 80's and early 90's, Lars got soft on the drums from 1996-2008

the drums in load and reload wasn't good beacuse lars didn't show his great drums like in the other albums, he use the drums just to mark the rythm, in that way it was more mainstream. It's about mainstream, metallica was mainstream in 1997.But he is still a great drummer, james and kirk always did great jobs. The sound of the guitars in load sound distortioned and strange....I like it

i never said that loadn and reload was metal. load and reload are not metal, it is a good album but boring for me. Lars got soft on the drums beacuse he's old or maybe just beacause he don't want to play fast anymore.

but the sound of the drum got soft on load and reload beacause metallica was sold out in that era, not beacuse he couldn't play faster, today lars sounds soft..but that's my opinion.

Lars is not soft in the mix though lol
