  • Great, the La Nina which brings drought here

    Is back.

  • my cousin lives in san diego, she

didnt have to go to skool do to

the fires. im glad shes alright though..

    love ya kenz!!! =)

  • If you live near an ocean or a coast you wouldn't feel that nervous with all the moisture in the air and everything. If it rained we would've been lucky. I live near the Pacific Ocean in Ventura County, right near the P.O.. The fires didn't hit here but there was one once in Ventura on a hill but not as bad as this, waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy smaller.

  • Did you loose your home?

  • oh wow, yeah that is crazy

  • the fire was scary...i live about 3 miles from where the harris fire was and i could see the flames from the back of our house

  • Im at escondido off the 78 E entrance. Where was this RB?

Ya know I read the papers and they say were takin extra precautions about fires now, but i know theres gonna be another one, hopefully not soon though

  • Sign543 outside the house!

  • Brings back memories. I live in Fallbrook. Went through the same skys to evacuate up to Temecula. All turned out well thought scary.

  • Malibu Area have a big time CURSE on it, I move out of Los Angeles in 2007 and now move into near Brownsville City also known as Southern California of TEXAS and Brand New homes here are still cheap for 3 bedrooms and 2 baths US$100,000-Brownsville & Harlingen are both growing big time- Tired of Smoke,Earthquake, pollution, fire n more

  • The winds are coming back! Google Ontario Weather Service for the most accurate forecast on them.

  • There was a fire less than one mile away from me (Irvine / Santiago), so you're pretty lucky to have it 10 miles away.

  • There's WAY too much wind to even attempt a controlled burn. That's academy 101.

  • hope your okay, can you please update?

  • dude can u believe people are blaming the fire on illegal aliens and president bush

  • now THIS is mental illness, "it's that damn Bush that makes fires burn hot and all that smoke, if he didn't rig the election, we wouldn't of had a fire," yeah yeah, hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • Actually controlled burns is not the best solution.Occasionally the burns do get out of control and become very destructive wild fires. Cutting trees to creat fire breaks and introducing grazing animals to reducing the bushes is a more controllable way to reduce the risk of wild fire.We don't build houses on oil rigs. If fact people living in the concrete jungles are more likely to die from fires than people living in the suburbs.

  • The authorities in Southern California are unwise not to do enough to encourage people living in high risk areas to become volunteer firefighters before this devastating fire. Shortage of firefighters is one of the main reasons why so many homes are lost and the regular firefighters had to keep on fighting fire to the point of complete exhaustion while many able men had to evacuate to watch their houses burned down.

  • when did the giraffes at the wild animal park get video cameras and access to youtube?

  • i wrote this song california burning as a tribute to the heroes and the survivors, Love you all

  • I would rather get blown to pieces than burn to death or suffocate.

  • Just stay safe. Your life is worth more than a house. Uncle is in Pine Valley, just 5 miles from fire, the the wind is going in opposite direction.

  • Wow, that reddish sky looks like something on Mars.

  • Damn dude that would freaky, my uncle had his house burn down and got to watch his car blow up....

  • it did

  • I was living in sd with the wildfires in 03, and you just gotta be there to believe it. Never seen anything like it.

  • I wish you all a quick ending to this fire. Thanks to all the fire fighters and common folk who are putting this fire out.

  • Dang, that looks like something from an apocalypse movie.

  • wow i can see the smoke from my house and i live like an hour and a half away from San Diego

  • Churchill once said "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." As true today as it was 65 years ago. This tragedy could have been prevented, provided that we learned from what happened 4 years ago.

The county is bankrupt; our firefighters are under-funded; everything is in dire need of repairs; and the politicians are more intent on making more money while everything around burns down. It's funny, though: this is still the best place on the planet.

    I weep for our future.

  • Stay safe. I'll pray for you

  • Quoted. For. Truth.

  • Yeap, praying stops fires.....

  • you serious? its just a damn book ffs, made up by some bored fat guy most probably, if i owned a library, sure i'd put it on the shelves, under fiction ¬_¬

  • Why are people voting u down? you seem to be the only one besides me with common sence, when i said prayer stops fires i was sarcastic lol

  • This guy did a better job on reporting than CNN.

  • @artfuldodga The problem is that the nationally broadcast news channels always have to cut to commercial breaks, except during national emergencies.

  • godspeed - be well

Come to NY and you can crash at my place

  • heart twisting for you. xoxoxooxox

  • i live in spring valley and very close to the san miguel fire

  • Hope the fire does not distroy any more or kill anymore. It just makes us realise how easy things can be distroyed. Take care sign"

  • when i left yesterday the sky was orange near the base :(

  • i evacuated yesterday morning

  • i live in coronado and i can see ashes falling from the sky and we are not going to skool and we are not affected at all

  • There ya' go. I'm so sorry you and your family are going through this. I hope you stay safe and your home remains untouched. Lauren

  • The rain is coming soon, and that will help big time. I am sure we will be getting your smoke here in Utah. Last time there were big fires there we got a lot of the smoke. Best of luck to you! And my prayers go out to you.
