It's happening in Dubai as well and in Lebanon.... its' disappointing ... they can fill in a venue of 20,000 for a foreign band, but barely 100-300 people for international underground bands from across the Middle East..
The brazilian scene is stagnated.. and that's why! All the bands are the same and there are millions of bands around. They all copy Angra, which copies other European Metal bands.. Sad but true.. Edu made reference to Andre Mato's new band playing for a small crowd and stuff.. HAVE YOU LISTENED TO THAT? It's pure crap! The same on.. over and over again! Why pay for that? I believe the lack of creativity and innovation from the musicians is pushing the fans away.
@keyboardfromheaven For sure you're right man! I agree with you, but in my head is like that: He's complaining about the Brazilian crowd, so why not compose lyrics in portuguese!? MAYBE he can get more peoples attention... Again, in my head, but you're right too! (ps.: It's nice talking with someone that I don't know and the person is polite ^^)
lol THIS IS HAPPENING IN ALL THE WORLD , except europe maybe. I understand Edu because in this video he's not talking as a singer, he's talking as a concerts producer who spend time and money to organize this event and he didn't earn any money but lost. Anyway people go to rata blanca and angra's live performance because they like it, for example I would not attend to any almah or sepultura's concert...BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE THEIR MUSIC!.
People always talk about the Brazilian Heavy Metal audience. Ok. Where's the lyrics in Portuguese?! For sure everything that he's talking about is true but I can only remember in 2 or 3 Angra musics that has a Portuguese lyric.
Edu said: "Brazilians go to international gigs instead of going to brazilian ones" but he still compose musics in English.
If people agree with me or not, I don't care, this is what ****I THINK*****.
@erionsimao Because english is the universal language, you can reach more people with your music and lyrics in europe, asia or africa because they don't speak portuguese but they DO understand english and maybe it's not their native language but they understand it!, that's why you are Brazilian and your comment is in english ;) because you want more people in the world and not only Brazilians to understand what you have to say (:
I dont think that this is a problem that has to do with countries etc. Its the whole problem of the underground. Music in general. Countless worthy bands stay unknown because the shame shit is promoted all the time everywhere. But even though i agree with him in that aspect, u still cant force and yell to someone "u have to buy my cd, u have to come and pay for my concert". I think its a wrong way to approach that problem. But then again i dont stand at the same frustrated place with him...
Hmmm it sounds familiar... OH YES! GREECE! OF COURSE! Same shit all over the world I guess, here in Greece we also have COUNTLESS local bands that literally WORK THEIR ASSES OFF and get ZERO recognition from the Greek metal community but hey, who cares? We have Scorpions and Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P. (We Are So Playback) doing sold out shows every 2 years so I guess we have a "greek metal scene"...
@AchillesAgonyEcstasy Our festivals on the other hand are PURE CRAP. Actually we only have 1 big festival, the Rockwave which SUCKS big time and now the Sonisphere which also sucked this year. We also have a smaller festival which is good called Up The Hammers with both local and foreign underground bands BUT it gathers 300-400 people. It's a shame. The average Greek metal fan is not going to concerts, not buying records BUT spends a lot on t-shirts, patches, beers in rock clubs etc... TRAGIC...
I thought that shit was only happening to Greece.Damn, the metal world is just fucked up..how the hell are small bands supposed to tour now?if these guys get like 100 people on their shows, what do we get?5?
HELL I feel exactly the way Edu does. I live in USA, for years I have supported ANGRA, ALMAH, others, Brazilians' act like they don't give a royal fuck about these guys! why in the world at thos Rock in Rio fest was the biggest proof of "sellout" when All the Brazilian bands didn't even play on the Main stages,WTF is that?
@Christoik Hello Chistoik. The guy from "Rock Express" answered about the song. It's a Kiss song called Killer, from the album Creatures of the Night. And this little riff was recorded by a friend of his, Fabio Piuma. Cheers.
Ofcourse, people will not support something just because its from their own country but because they like it and no one can force anybody to like for example Almah or Symfonia, just because they are related to a legendary band like Angra.
Its really hard for you and Andre doing something new.
You have to be 110% of your self.
But the problem is when you get the most haters out from your OWN country...

What's the name of the song playing at the start and the end of the video? If it's a song, not a soundtrack for the show.
