About Nogueira vs. Herring. That kick fucked him good, but... he was never "out cold". He was putting up a defense the whole time, albeit just about everything was slipping through, but he was still in it and putting up a defense. But had Herring kept on with the blows the fight would have been his no doubt. But he let it stand back up and the rest is history.

In really old UFC fights they would go for 30 minutes and if it was a draw they would go fore 5 minutes of overtime. At least thats what they did in the superfight between Royce Gracie and Ken Shamrock at UFC 5.

It's smart. Boxing has suffered for it all going PPV. Not many people bother with it now, because they haven't built up any loyalty. UFC throwing out some great cards now and then will make sure a base is built and kept = more PPV sales and sustained in the long run.

Oh yea Nogiera is gonna fight the winner of Cro-Cop vs. Chiek Kongo. If Kongo wins he might as well forfeit cuz he will get taken down and submitted immediately which won't be any fun to watch. Shogun beat Overeem and Randleman under Vegas rules (no stomps&kicks) Shogun's true strength is that he's really well-rounded as a fighter and is able to quickly transition between different types of offense and defense. If Shogun's cardio is up to par, Rampage will have problem and we will have a great title fight :P

Rampage won't be able to beat Shogun in a rematch unless he somehow learns how to work a muai tai clinch. Same with Rich Franklin. I mean its not that hard. When Rich fights Anderson again and gets tied up in the clinch he should either take him down or power out immediatly, not stand and wait to get kneed. I just understand how these two guys are such great fighters but they freeze up when someone grabs their head with some authority.

Anyone who's done even a shred of grappling can appreciate it when they watch it, the guys who boo should try out some wrestling, jiujitsu or judo, or even some boxing, grappling is like a 5 minute sprint its so tough, if people tried it first hand they'd realise whats going on, position is worth fighting for.

The booing is getting really boarish and is very disappointing for me. It seems, increasingly, unless a fight features regular large show-ey punches or kicks then todays MMA crowd get bored.

Sure it's a show, but I hope this doesn't start to influence things to the point where we loose the finer, more technical aspects of the game.

Hey vicioussid, what did you think about Tito gassing out, YET again. I think it's such BS, especially because of how much they pay him. Unless he puts on a dominating performance in his next Rashad fight, I honestly don't see him getting a new contract from them, especially with his bad blood with Dana. Interesting. That'd be a pretty good match up. Also, I agree more than completely with the reintroduction of knees on the ground in the UFC. The UFC far too much lay and pray without them. Losing soccer kicks is acceptable and they are dangerous, but knees on the ground would be an excellent addition.

Safety wise, I see no reason, but people associate soccer kicks with brutality and it might not be the best move for public opinion. Also, knees to the head on the ground are easier to get away from by un-turtling oneself. In terms

I think the issue of soccer kicks is more public opinion than safety, sorry for saying it's a safety issue. Though a full soccer kick to the temple frightens me.
