  • You are so right, hyphen!

  • This campaign is merely another attempt to rid the world of ALL things CHRISTIAN. You atheists don't fool anyone. You already have every possible right when it comes to FREEDOM NOT to worship. You REALLY want a world devoid of ALL things Christian. This campaign is a fraud, You are asking for something you already have! But you ALSO want your ears to NEVER have to hear worship & your eyes to NEVER have to see worship. You want all the rights & Christians to be outlawed & hidden from view!

  • He was terriffic playing Brooks.

  • Brooks Was Here

  • I am related to James, and I didn't know till my dad told me a few years ago

  • My question is why couldn't you take that pipe out of your mouth for 40 seconds to make this video?

  • It's also time for the atheists to leave the christians alone and let them worship in peace without trying to shut them up.

  • Do you really have this problem of atheists barging into your churches on sunday trying to shut you up?

Do you even have atheists picketing outside your churches? Maybe you do, I've never heard of this happening.

But I have heard of christians trying to impose prayer in public school classrooms.

  • @DetoxMansion it also goes the other way. i went to mass yesterday, but i certainly don't have the right to harrass anyone about them not having gone to mass yesterday.

  • the lady that doesn't want to worship looks so fucken crazy

  • One person doesn't like the color shirts you used in this.

  • James Whitmore was born October 1, 1921 in White Plains, New York, USA. He is an American actor best known for starring in numerous hit films, such as 'The Shawshank Redemption', 'The Relic', 'Give 'em Hell, Harry!' and 'The Asphalt Jungle'. He died February 6, 2009 age 87.

  • i'll kik 'is azz

  • He seems like a great guy to talk to. I wish I could have met him.

  • A wooden pipe. Now that's old school.

Died of lung cancer mind you, but hey, he lived to be 87. That's worth it.

    RIP

  • Well i wouldn't enrole in sleezy eugenic Skull and Crossbones order would I jim(1944)!

  • he was awesome in the truman play, which can be found in the links at right

  • He was great in the Miracle Grow commercials.

  • I've just read you have died and it really broke my heart.

I liked you very much in your role of Mr. Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption.

    I'm really sorry.

    Rest in peace Mr. Whitmore.

  • i Worship god

  • Shawshank would never have been the same without what he brought to the screen.

Incredible actor, incredible man, may he rest in peace forever

  • You were incredible in the Shawshank Redemption. R.I.P James Whitmore. October 1, 1921 February 6, 2009.

  • Rip james Whitmore.. Terriffic Actor in the shawshank redemption movie.

  • James Whitmore. Although I don't know a LOT about him you can tell he was sharp and seems like a good guy. Rest in peace. As usual videos like these bring out some of the vicious, ignorant, and disgusting right wing nuts. I hope Obama can make it through 2 terms alive for the sake of the country.

  • Wow you are so ignorant no ones gonna try and kill Obama! If anything Obamas committing political suicide with all the crap he has put this country through in his first 6 months. People dont need to try and kill obama he is hurting himself more by doing what he is doing.

  • I was just reading the page for "The Shawshank Redemption" on the IMDB, when I saw that James (Brooks Hadlen) had died last week! We recieved no news of it over here in England! RIP

  • God damn it I love James Whitmore. He is fighting for one of the few issues I am passionate about that even the democrats are I am sorry to say weak, evasive and total pussies one. He was very sharp before he died though he definitley looked old as shit

  • RIP JAMES WHITMORE!!!!!

  • The great James Whitmore was truly a stand-up guy who spoke his mind. Too bad this type of commercial encourages all of the dumbos who misinterpret the Founding Father's beliefs on the relationship between their belief in God and their duty to the State (see

"MRPBDY's" comments below). And LOSE THE PIPE, JAMES!!! Or at least take it out of your trap once in a while!

  • Whitmore is okay in what he says, but don't be religiously blind. Atheists demand neutrality. Yet, on a world-view, the division in Iraq between the Shi'ites and Sunnis has nothing to do with oil, but all to do with religion: Who is a particular family member of Mohammad? Israel has to do with God, and the Palestinians know the meaning of the Temple on the Mount to the Jews, which area they now occupy. If life went on forever, that'd be one thing. It's short for a reason: learn and get out.

  • actually he was agnostic if thats how you spell it

  • R.I.P James Whitmore 1921 - 2009

  • @frontdoor1208 Yup he was my great great uncle

  • If Heaven is full of idiots like bigSSG, I'll gladly go somewhere else. What a right-wing nut ball.

  • awesome rip james whitmore

  • thats cool. ill be seeing him in heaven. :D

  • Everyone should have be free to believe what they want - The problems begin when they try to foist these beliefs on others including their children.

Though either - Every religion is true, or Every religion is false, which is it I wonder? hmm.

  • "Including their children"??? Parents should be free to teach their children whatever they frickin' want as long as it doesn't physically harm themselves or anybody else. What, would you really advocate the government stepping into families and dictating what they can and cannot teach their children? What a dumb idea.

  • Great commercial and bigSSG you are a prime example of too much FOX (Fake) news and too much listening to Rush (drug bag bigmouth poison talk) can indeed ROT your brain.

  • Rest in peace dear James. You did good work in this life. Bon voyage...

  • What was his mistake? Wanting freedom for people to worship as they please? Screw you, bigSSG. You're a fool.

  • Holy shit, it's the pipe smoking head of Bob, incarnated here on earth!

  • brooks was here

  • classic james!*slaps knee*

  • thats my question. Whats yours? lol whats urs

  • We are the only nation on earth that has a document clearly seperating church and state. Our founding fathers knew what they were doing. I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!

  • The only nation except France and Turkey and a few others.

  • Thank you, I was mis-informed. Turkey is a surprize.

  • I think the framers knew what they were doing when they wrote our laws. Just follow the Bill of Rights and I won't have to excersize my 2nd ammendment as guaranteed in the constitution to defend it. But if I do have to use it, and I say this as a progressive, I WILL!

  • awesome.

  • Freedom OF religion also means freedom FROM religion.

  • *Wink* We've got a problem.

  • The founding fathers created the Constitution with the principle of separation of Church and State, for they had experienced first hand what can happen when individuals disagreed with the King's religion. It's part of the reason this country was established. My question for the evangelicals, what would you do if you were told you could not practice your religion? Basically, they seem to me to be acting the way the Nazis did in the 30s--follow our ways and teachings--OR ELSE!

  • Outstanding! It's time for the evangelical Christians to allow the rest of to worship (or not) in peace. Even if the display of the Ten Commandments were constitutional, which version should we display... the Protestant, Catholic, or the Jewish version? Heck, there are probably others.
