I saw the James Rogers shlow several years ago around Christmas in a theatre in Pigeon Forge nad a live eagle was turned loose to fly over the audience at the time. Was that Challenger? For some reason at the time, I thought it was one of the eagles that had been raised at Dollywood.

Thank you for sharing the video, the beautiful music, and this beautiful Raptor. It is such an amazing feat that the Bald Eagle is almost off of the endangered species list. My husband and I love going on eagle hunts when we go to doctor appointments at the University of Iowa because their are a large number of eagles on the Iowa River that runs through Iowa City and Coralville. We have so many pictures of these great creatures, either flying or perched in a tree or on the ice of the river.

They allow a falconer to keep control of a bird while it is on the glove or in training, and allow a bird to be secured on a perch outside of its aviary.

Love eagles. I'm in north Idaho and have (literally) dozens and dozens of nesting/hunting eagles around our 6 lakes. They never fail to inspire as you watch them take fish out of Lake Coeur d'Alene and feed their young. Beautiful animals.

We live in Central Florida next to Lake Istokpoga where Ospreys and Eagles abound. We are filled with pride and marvel as these great birds fly overhead, often carrying a fish, snake or rabbit to their young. Upon delisting, the Service will continue to work with state wildlife agencies to monitor eagles for at least five years, as required by the Endangered Species Act. If at any time it appears that the bald eagle again needs the Act's protection, the Service can propose to relist the species.

They became endangered for more than one reason however one main reason for their endangerment was because of logging and cutting down the trees they nest in. When they were put on the endangered species list, it became illegal to cut down trees in the natural habitat of the bald eagle. Now that they are off the list, it is no longer illegal to do so. They may very well end up back on the endangered species list...but I really hope we can learn from our mistakes!
