its really interesting how everyone tries to 'jazz this song up'. I dont think it should be sung as a 'bring the house down' number. It should be sung as if the singer is a little jaded but still able to convey the underlying hope that she will, one day, be rescued from a life of prostitution...Watch Vivian Green singing it in the film De Lovely and you wont bother listening to another version...she just makes your hair stand on end..
