I think that James Cameron taking part of the title sort of caused the movie to not get good reviews. I think that if the title stayed the same as the original, maybe people wouldnt have minded Aang's and Sokka's names being pronounced differently. I think without the original title, the movie just looks like a parody! But even though I don't like how the movie came out, I still feel bad when I hear people saying very rude things about the actors, especially Noah, he's a sweetheart :(

There is no possible way to ever defend that horrible movie. Not only is the story itself off; characters are wrong, the nations are wrong (they couldn't even follow the ethnicity in the series, god dammit), but I've never seen such bad acting or directing. The only thing that was actually good was the special effects, but special effects can't uphold an entire movie based on an already existing story, nor defend it.

The whole ethnicity of the characters was messed up and the actors looked nothing like the characters except for Aang maybe & I was disappointed when they announced the characters but to be honest, I really appreciated the movie. Not the best adaptation but I'm thankful that they thought the whole concept is that great, they can actually produce a movie out of it.

I thought Dev did great. He gets a lot of shit for this role but I could tell that he was truly delving into Zuko's character. I know a lot of Avatar fans were expecting him just to exactly mimic Dante Basco's Zuko but in the acting world that's pretty much a bitch thing to do. He took what happened in Zuko's life and let that shape how he portrayed him on screen; what he played was very real and true and I was impressed. Aang and Katara on the other hand were just badly mimicked.

I have no hate for the actors they don't have any way to change the script after it's been made they "act" it out tiz their job. I'd say they did as best as they could have in such a situation. The adition of live action special effects shouldn't have over power the STORY ARC or the CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT and M. Night Shamalan should have been aware of that.

A lot of Anime fans Asian and non-Asian boycotted the film because there were almost no Asian actors. A lot of people were very confused, especially because M. Night is Asian himself.
I liked the movie and if shymalan does make a second one, it will have more fighting and the kyoshi warriors which i think everyone was sad that they werent in the first one

and aslso, hes saying how all nationalities were represented in this film. well i dont agree with that. the four nations represent 4 different chinese cultures in the show. THIS IS A CHINESE based show. so not to be racist but i dont agree with hiring people who werent asian to play asian characters! i mean seriously who said to add whites and indians into this?? i was very dissapointed by shyamalan. if hes going to make a movie he needs to make it right. its like he never watched this show..

@darkhummy just because it was made by americans doesnt mean the characters are white. they are all chinese. you can tell by the architecure, what they eat, the chinese calligraphy, their names and the names of the cities, so yes. it is based off of ancient chinese culture. you dont believe me? look it up. Chin the conquerer? based off of a real ancient chinese person who tried to expand his empire.

I thought Dev did great. He gets a lot of shit for this role but I could tell that he was truly delving into Zuko's character. I know a lot of Avatar fans were expecting him just to exactly mimic Dante Basco's Zuko but in the acting world that's pretty much a bitch thing to do. He took what happened in Zuko's life and let that shape how he portrayed him on screen; what he played was very real and true and I was impressed. Aang and Katara on the other hand were just badly mimicked.

lets not blame the actors, the reason there acting was bad as fuck, is because they weren't given good direction, if a actor isn't directed well, or is not told constantly "with feeling" they can't act the role, most if not 70 percent of the movie is depeneded on how well the director is handling the movie, and if they need to improve things, or get ideas from actors themeslves, it just seems these kids were just thrown in the roles, and the movie depended on CGI

I feel terrible for these actors. Absolutely awful for these actors. It isnt their fault the movie was so bad.. I mean, yeah some of the acting was incredibly cheezy (katara and such) but M Night Shyamalan just pulled them into a failure of a movie, trying to create a movie that could just NOT uphold the legend of the show, ESPECIALLY if its done by M Night. I respect these actors, especially Zuko and Sokka, im just sad they had to be involved in this movie ://

I have no hate for the actors they don't have any way to change the script after it's been made they "act" it out tiz their job. I'd say they did as best as they could have in such a situation. The adition of live action special effects shouldn't have over power the STORY ARC or the CHARACTER DEVELOPEMENT and M. Night Shamalan should have been aware of that.

Actually Dev Patel was the best actor in that train wreck. To have such a bad script and turn that into a decent part. He deserves my respect as an actor. He's the only that survived that tragedy with little injuries.

I actually thought he was the only well cast actor in the entire movie. everything needs to be redid, including finding a new visionary and writer and closer work situations with nickelodeon...the point of making a live-action movie is to please the fans, and this movie was not true to the series. like i said, thought dev was a great choice for zuko. he's out there, and he's not typical "asian", he's indian, which seems like a bold, but good fire nation representation to me.
