I've read A necessary Deception and it was brilliant there are a lot of great fanfiction stories for Labyrinth and if you really thoroughly analyse the move itself there are many hints to a subplot and an insight into Jareth I believe he loved her and was never really going to harm her when you think about it he could have left her in the oubliette or forcibly had her friends kept from her during or after her run through the labyrinth and personally I do agree no 1 could replace David as Jareth

@roliver31483 I agree with Lattelady6. David Bowie is, honestly, the only person I'd tolorate as Jareth. I might have to kill whomever was cast for the prequel. ;) The thing is, if we DID know for certain why Jareth is who is is, I don't think we'd love it quite so much. Call me crazy, but the questions you're left with are half the fun.

@roliver31483 I think we just have to settle for fanfiction as to why there is a Goblin King. Bowie is the only person to play Jareth and he's in his sixties. Story suggestion and it isn't mine - A Necessary Deception by Twisted Logic. Best Laby story out there. It would answer a lot of your questions and it is very different.

Sorry, but we have to explain then you probably won't get it. The only thing I can say is really listen to the lyrics of Within You. And remember, "The King had fallen in love with the girl."

And then there's the line "Just fear me, love me, do as I say, and I will be your slave." The fear me part might seem to be a little bit negating of the whole love idea, but the way I see it, fear is a big part of Jareth's world. Fear is loyalty to Jareth. After all, you don't really see anyone being loyal and faithful to him because they like him, only because he scares them. So in saying ''fear me'', it could be interpreted as, "Be loyal to me. Be faithful to me." That makes it much more clear

"A Necessary Deception" takes place when Sarah is an adult. It is novel length. The Jareth we see in Laby melts a young girls heart the one is this story a woman would fall in love with. It is unusual and gets right into the story.

It took me forever to remember the name of this movie, the first time and last time I watched it I was like 8 years old and all I had to go by was a girl, maze, and puppets...eventually I did find out it was the Labyrinth and I got it on DVD, I watch it all the time..

I did some checking and there is a fanfiction. I know there is at least one fake trailer here on YouTube for a sequel to Labyrinth.  It's for a story, but not sure which one. There is a book as well, but I don't think there is a real movie with Bowie and JC.

I used clips from a number of different movies of adult Sarah. I can't remember the one with Bowie, it was about Vampires and had Susan Saranden in it. Check on Netflicks it should have it for you. There is only one Laby movie.
