  • their armor makes me think of Joxer the mighty, on that note why the hell would you have a chain-mail face cover, frikin stupid. I can see where it would be appealing but sight is crucial and that would of strickened their sight, not idea for combat especially when fighting close quarters-melee you need to be able to see to act and react when in battle.

  • Long live India and Persia

    Long live the Aryans

  • @Shahin2102 say wut homie long live israel

  • @shawdawg89 And Israel ;)

  • @Shahin2102

Long live any civilization that have kabobs on their menu.

  • @Intranetusa amen

  • @Intranetusa u can only kiss their kabobs

  • @aimedbm

nah, I take huge chunks out of them with each bite.

  • it is gud collection. It cud hav been better if u mgt hav stated names of weapons & warriors. I understood only shivaji & rana pratap. Nxt tym do so.

  • @TheCoolguymd stop agonising over this. The old suits of armour of Europe were also destroyed for the most part - some are in Museums. The old armours of Greece,Rome and Egypt are also not readily seen either. No one is trying to destroy/hide Indian civilisation . India is once again on the rise in global affairs.Your country is rich in its history and civilisation and not to be hidden.

  • 00:07 Arjuna!From Baghavad-Gita!

  • @TheCoolguymd I would not worry about that. Many have actually popped up in European auctions and antique stores. I have held some myself and was mightily impressed by the quality of the steel and the superior craftsmanship. Chinese and Japanese blades are great too. Old European blades are mainly mass produced stuff for outfitting huge armies quickly, though there are individual exceptions. I think your ancestors never knew their weapons would be appreciated so far from home.

  • Those armours are amazing. They look like a beautiful fantasy, but they are real.

  • this armour looks scary when having battles ppl get shook of each other with their armour on

  • hey ur collection is superb, can u say me wat song or album is that background music,

  • the Pata you've included in the video is mine!!

  • Chain mail that covers the face , that's creative

  • @chantakzee yeas and protective they dident iven thought about it in europe

  • I am trying to find out about the exotic spearshield weapon. My guess it is of indian origins but found in Europe about 500 years agao.

  • @NewZealfighter "spearshield" Idk, but Indians did make hybrid gun/shield and also hybrid katar/gun also. Try to look those up.

  • @BengalG3 I fould the hybrid sheild/spears.They exited in Germany about 500 ago. They were called duelling shield or wall shields.

But still little information about them.It seems like something like that may have been used in india.

I think the hybrid spear shield would be pratical in a post apocalyptic world as the sheild could double as a transport supply sled and shelder in the rain and hot sun and you could make it bullet proof as well and even hunt with it.

  • @NewZealfighter where did you hear about it first?

  • @chitownzfinesthustla

There are some video on Youtube of course. The picture from a manucript of a famous german guy I am guessing is name troffer. These guy wrote manucripts on the art of war with edged weapons and unarmed combat as well.

anyway,it seems the spear/shield which used by peasents in court combat but not in war

  • and we had to talk bout races here... seriously give it a god damn break....

  • 4.07 my fav weapon ^-^

  • Nice to see women also taking part in wars

  • nice stuff!

  • At long last some great collection of true Indian armors. But these all seems to be of medival period( the style adopted in the last 1000 years I guess?) but what about the ancient era? please post if you have any collection of those vids. (I mean the battle helmet from the battle of marathon is stored in British museum. anything like that from the Gupta, Mauryan or contemporary dynastic period)

  • @heirofthenight from what I read Guptas did use armored heavy horsemen. And Mauryans and Guptas did used scale and chainmall..Guptas are in the ancient era. They are like in the middle of medieval and ancient.

  • @BengalG3 do you have a source for that ? of guptas using armoured horsemen ?

  • @MauryaSenapati Read up on the Gupta armies. They had knowledge of siegecraft, catapults, and other sophisticated war machines.Gupta military success likely stemmed from the concerted use of elephants, armored cavalry, and foot archers in tandem against both Indian kingdoms and foreign armies

  • @BengalG3 my friend, that is exactly why I asked for the source, because I want to read it. :) btw do check out mauryan armoured cavalry in my uploads.

  • @MauryaSenapati read on google, wiki, etc. You can find it. I dont think the Mauryans used armor like that. The most armored they got was chain mail.

  • @BengalG3 well google and wiki are not original sources. from your comment I had assumed you knew about some original source. and yes, my portrayal is based on material available from the mauryan period, particularly arthashastra. so it is accurate.

  • @MauryaSenapati No you can find original sources about it, just look it up

  • yo, guys enough about that medieval stuff xD Music name =P ?????

  • hmmm.....the rajput armor and sheild looks very similar to persian/turkish types

  • @slimshadythe2nd Ya thats why its called ''Indo-Persian'' armor. Rajputs put a lot of leather and silk coverings then the middle easterns. The had chainmail with some plate. Light for their horsemen.

  • Hey. Your map at 0:17 shows Sri Lanka as a tributary of Maurya dynasty. It is wrong history lesson you rgiving. At that time, Sri lanka was an indipendant kingdome. Never was it an tributary or a part of any Indian dynasty. I know indians like to think it that way even today. However, it never was and it never will.

  • @viduramd I got these picture from the internet most from British sources. And also the Chola empire to over sri lanka and south east asia and parts of indo-china.

  • @BengalG3 we have a written history of 2500 years my friend.. It doesnt say that we were under any foriegn country until 1815 when british took over... Maybe sri lanka was a small spot in the map that they did not want to have the trouble of considering it. However, it is wrong if they state the country "sri lanka" was under chola empire. Some coastal parts were under them.. But never the whole country..

  • @viduramd Chola did take over all of Sri lanka and so did the Dutch and British.Cholas and the Lankas went to war many times. Chola took over them. That is way there are many Tamils in Sri Lanka from the Chola armies and traders.

  • Some of that stuff is from the Royal Ontario Museum, like 2 hours away from where I live.

    Some awesome stuff here man!

    =]

  • Hello, which Museum is this?

  • @Moebab Most from British Museums im sure.

  • 6:36 what's with the lizard on the leash? Do you know what it was used for?

  • @crypteye Believe it or not the Marathas used trained lizards to unlock small castes.

  • @crypteye These Lizards were used to scale the walls of the fort. Once the Lizard climbed up the Lizard would hold on the the wall while the Soldiers would climb up behind them.

  • @manu175 You mean they were used as recon to prevent ambush etc?

  • @crypteye

no exactly to prevent ambush, but to get ready fr a swift action in a fort. According to a famous legend, Marathas used this animal to take the fort of "Sinhgarh" from the mohamadens. Google it and it should be clear to you

  • Far out. The level of detail is extraordinary. The equipment is so ornate! It would seem shameful to have it ruined in combat. The Rajputs must have appeared very impressive on the battlefield. This video definitely displays some of the most impressive examples of armour I have ever seen! Greetings from Australia.

  • Nice video to watch for the moron western historians.. most of them portray the Indians as half nude long haired barbarians with their bodies painted with colors giving them appearence of clowns (as in the movie Alexander). These stupids should study more about the rich heritage of India and how it was the largest economy and richest country in the world till 1000 AD.

  • @ 5:25 You mentioned 'Never Mind That' on the highlight balloon. Can you elaborate please ? Thanks.

  • @umeshway This was the first time i used the video maker. And I made a mistake when ''others'' or other pictures came. It hit on Ranjit Singh which is an ''important figure''. It was supposed to enter at 5:36.

  • THANKS for posting this video. I was looking for this one since long time.

  • cool vid. It would be nice to see what the lower class of warriors used also. i was also wonder wether islam influenced the armour or was it idia influencing islam

  • @wingclaws Islamic armour def. influenced the armours, but heavier the a lot of Islamic armour. Remember the Mughals were also Muslim-Indians(are past descendants from Mongols how intermarried with Indians).Regular soldiers would wear chain mail with clothing over it. Or sometimes little to no armour at all.

  • @BengalG3 I would replace "married" with raped.

  • @xXx0Sanctuary0xXx with out? Mughals? Raping happens, but the rajputs kings gave their daughters who gave birth to the new emperors that ruled.

  • @BengalG3 Yeh thats true, but what do you think happend when they first invaded my country? Raping was more common than marriage with the native indians.

  • very informational!!!

  • Lol.you are not made of blood, it is just like a dress one day you have this dress next day you have the dress of a dog.You are soul not this body, thus when you act on this plattform of soul you are superior, NOT THIS BODY,that fool nr1 MUDDHA. What platfform? devotional service unto the supreme personality of godhead,The meaning of the Shastras is to know Krishna,Thus if you know Krishna through Bhakti yoga , you are far superior than any vedantist and certanily the fool on bodily plattform

  • A sage is not in bodily conception of life, I am indian , american, italian etc etc. Thus acts on this temporary body. No, It is describes in the Vedas those who have this conception, GOkhara, Cow ass, Muddha , fool nr 1.

  • Krishna said someone who identifies with his body, such as I am indian, american, british, etc etc, is fool nr 1. First understand that you have a soul, that is the abc of spiritual understanding. Than when you perform devotional service, then will you actually realize it.

  • Nice post G. But I can't watch your video of Ancient India (King Porus) vs Alexander the Great tho. Some help here ?

  • No i idea my friend. It will work eventually.

  • Thank you for making this video, very interesting.

  • nice video..again!

names of the kings/leaders as subtitles would have been great.

  • Fascinating! Thank you!

  • cool

  • Very interesting. Thanks for the video mate. Take Care.

  • That was awesome thats for share!
