this work perfectly for me on windows 7 64 bit system, updating iPhone 4s from 5.0 to 5.0.1 as also had no problem updating my iPad 2 from 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 like JLblogR. I did find it strange that we both had same situation, many thanks JLblogR.

@playboykls Yeah i put that because when i tried updating my ipod touch i got the 3194 error and the process that i showed in the video didnt help me. It ended up being my firewall blocking apple application. which was weird because i never had a problem updating to any other OS on my ipod touch before until iOS 5. No idea why that OS is having so many issues just trying to update -.-

@kendawg386 Did your phone update to iOS 5? or its stuck at the 1604 error. i havent had that error in a very long time. All i remember doing is putting it in DFU mode and holding shift and pushing restore on itunes to a previous .ipsw file, but i hope you find a video that helps you solve that 1604 error because i really dont remember the exact steps i went through to fix that.
