There are times that I do hate living in this country, but I have to say songs like this help remind me of the beauty and history that our country really does have. I have to say even at 20 years old Im excited for the Queens jubilee and the olympics! hopefully they will help us forget about the current doom and gloom that is surrounding us at the moment!

And most of us have ancestors within the last three or four generations that served in wars and fought for our country, that is why we are proud. There is nothing wrong with that at all.

Watching the Last Night of the Proms is so amazing. How I wish Singapore has such traditions. Well I can only hope one day I myself will be able to attend at least once in my lifetime.

I am a Singaporean, Singapore was discovered by a British by the name of Sir Stamford Raffles. We are who we are today because of the British Empire. Watching the Last Night of the Proms is so amazing. How I wish Singapore has such traditions. Well I can only hope one day I myself will be able to attend at least once in my lifetime.

I can't help feeling a deep swelling of something inside me when I watch this performance, but I think it's the presence of so many other flags alongside the British that really gets me. British nationality is necessarily an inclusive one, for all colours and creeds.

I am one Chinese teenager among the last generation of British-Hong Kong.
I prefer British-HK then PRC-HK, and I am being factual.
Though being Chinese, we HKer had been raised under our own culture, neither the British Rugby, Cricket, Fish & Chips, nor the PRC Communist, Farming and Industrialist.
HKer might admit they're living in the cultural desert, in fact, we have our own culture for decades.

To be pair, I found myself in a less wealthy situation in Britain then in HK, But I felt better, because in return the Government does care, not just being an @rse and not taking any responsibility in anything.

btw, a government does not always win the heart of its people. As in the case of Hong Kong, it was coercion and conquest. I suppose even the British history books would not deny this. Therefore, de-colonisation seems far from an outdated term.
