Awesome commercial (this is coming from someone who despises commercials in general). And the thing is, they're not selling this car based purely on image--it is in fact an excellent car.
I sat in the TSX V6 at the car show and even though I can't buy a new one right now, I'll wait a few years and catch one then. It was the first car I sat in. When I got to the car show, I went straight to the Acura section.
I am fascinated with this pitch for a car! It just reeks with the vigor and optimism of youth, and the promise of getting on and ahead in the world. The girl running along the beach and, later, floating on her back in the pool; the scissor-action of the legs, the friends dancing on the beach after a night of play - Just some of the ingredients of a lovely one-minute-video poem!
In my opinion this commercial captured the target audience perfectly. It's an amazing commercial and it does make me want to buy this car. Well done Acura.
This song makes you want to buy this car. Whoever was in charge of coming up with the concept for this commercial needs to get a raise. I'm young, and this commercial is obviously trying to appeal to the younger consumer; perhaps, a couple years post -college. NICE!!!!
they are not super fuel efficient like a civic, you have to remember its a heavy car, so abd the engine is a 4 cylinder, so it does have some work to do. it will still burn gas but slighly less the TL. it is he same as asking a small child to lift a heavy object, they will get it dont but no as efficient as a stronger adult hence V6 motor
@acuratlnigga I agree completely with your point. However I think Acura is aiming the TSX at a younger audience than the TL. It's more of a sportier alternative to those who see the CSX as simply a Civic. Would still kill for a TL Type S though.
They did an awesome job on this commercial! Great song! Just picked up an '09 TSX w/ Tech Package and I'm in love! I know the V6 comes out for 2010 but the V4 is what I wanted with the gas prices going back up! A "Techie's" dream car!
Freaking hideous car...what's with that tumour of a front grille? The proportions of the car are whacked out...nice fender flares and fat hind quarters. Overall, I give it a flop...just like this commercial.
The previous 2004 to 2008 TSX is far more elegant.

i live in chicago! the car gives me around 26 mpg in the city which is very very good. on a full tank (about 18gallons) it lasts me around 480 miles!!!

In my 2006 TSX, the best I was able to achieve was 36 MPG highway cruising at 75MPH. The MPG briefly hit 37 but went down to 36 once I reached my destination 230 miles away. It featured a real time fuel economy LED bar to show how efficient the vehicle was. I'm not sure if the 09 still has it.

I would definitely buy a TSX! The 06 had some definite upgrades over the 1st gen TSX. In 2010, the TSX is finally getting a V6. I upgraded to a TL and sorta regret that impulse because the TSX was built in Japan and the TL in Ohio with the Accord. I swear its not bias, but the paint seems to chip and flake off the TL because of EPA restrictions over Japan paint. I have 16k miles and the TL has paint bubbles in the ground effects, around the taillight corners, and many fisheyes. I w&wax weekly.
Congratulations! When you take delivery, make sure to check under the front spoiler lip BEFORE you sign the paperwork. My TSX had severe bumper scrapes and my TL had signs of touch up spray paint for a dime sized paint bubble.
Honestly, one of the best I've ever seen. Whatever company did the ad did just an extemely brilliant job. Wow. Makes me wish I'd of traded in my RSX for one when I did.
