There is no need to watch rice after boiling if you use the right pot. Your pot looks thin. The key is a thick pot (Caldero) with a tight fitting lid, Bring rice to rolling boil, cover pot, reduce heat as low as possible. Cook 17 minutes. Shut off heat, Wait another 15 or 30 minutes.
1 3/4 cup of water to each cup of rice if you like it dry. 2 plus cups if you like it moist. Of course keep in mind other liquids added to main recipe.
