  • Are those cubic metal things for cooling or are they the actual internal antennas? I don't like the routers which have internal antennas. A antenna should be external and upward sticking out but that's only my opinion...I've just ordered the Dlink DIR-855 Quad band 802.11N Gigabit router and i can't wait to get it. To be honest i was thinking about to get the linksys too but the oled screen on the dlink is much nicer.

  • @GRiZLOC Those are RF shields around the radios, to keep them from producing radio interference with each other and other devices, and to protect them from the same sort of interference.

    The antennas are the four oddly shaped sheet metal pieces in the corners of the box.
