You never disappoint. I shared this gem. Its not only a great song, but you introduced me to another great singer, you seem to do that allot though :D.
Liverpool FC. My team, my life. My story, this song is perfect. It's not a very good song but it means so much and you did it very very well. Great job Julien!!!
@ghtoti Thanks! Why do you say it's not a very good song? I personally think it's very well written, both music and lyrics. One of my all time favorites.
@trudbol I've sung it before in some choirs I'm in and it's never been a fave of mine soundwise. I just get the impression that he probably wrote it on a napkin in a train in about 10 minutes. I just feel like the lyrics don't quite connect with the tune. I'm a big Rogers and Hammerstein fan though so I guess it's just one of those things. lol. Great job anyway!
@grandplans Thank you! Give it a try, it's easier than you think: just download Audacity (open source freeware) and play around with it. You'll be surprised with the results. ;-)
I know this isn't a religious song but it has that "vibe" to it. The Church I go to sings in only Acappella. @65dirt Thank you! I have a few songs on iTunes already (links on my channel page). You can also make a donation to support my music if you'd like. Thanks! ;-)
In the musical "Carousel" for which this song was written, the hero Billy Bigelow dies and comes back to earth as an invisible angel to see his daughter one last time. This song is played at his funeral and contains a message of hope: "When you walk through a storm, hold your head up high". ;-)
@MrHanzie89 No worries, I appreciate the feedback. If you are indeed looking for something easy and exciting, this isn't the right piece. But after having listened to our version at least 20 times, I feel we did its spirit justice. It's always harder to make something sad ans slow enjoyable for the viewer, the more upbeat, happy / positive songs are easier to sell indeed. ;-)
my previous comment is in response to BobFromMich btw. i think you are going to have to ask youtube to create a double column of comments for you and your fans, cos because you are so extra polite and reply to most of them we get a bit block of trudbol's comments on our comments, and actually we want to see what other people said about you mainly :)

Wow... this is gorgeous... and, I hope, more collaborations will follow...
Think about some of the Phantom/Christine duets from "Love Never Dies"- you both have the vocal timbres and power to carry them with majesty. In fact, I think just about
anything you set your voices to will be delightful!
@zunbarg Thanks! The genre itself isn't so new to me, since I've sung a few musicals before, but doing it with a voice like Gingerona sure is new. What a privilege!
Quelle présence! Que du plaisir. Vos voix s'épousent à merveille. Les supporters de Liverpool en auraient la chair de pool... (je sais elle est pas terrible). Fred
i realy like to listenin' this but i can't bealive that i have to enjoy this onli on youtube...well, it's much better this than nothin...thanks for every vid.
Tuning was great. Arrangement, too. But where is the emotion? You both sound and look like you're reading a newpaper. This song has so much more just waiting to be performed.
We did strive for something simple, clean and sober, and really tried not to overdo it, like a lot pop singers we see and hear. I agree with you I'm a bit too nonchalant in this one, but I don't feel Gingerona's missing expressiveness. It's minimalistic, with hand movements, the eyes, a delicate smile. Did you try to watch the video in full screen? A small video frame does reduce these details.
If you were going for simple, clean vocals, you achieved that. However, it was the lack of facial expressions, etc. that kept me from enjoying the recording. Are you singing to inspire someone in the depths of sorrow? Are you singing to lift yourself from such a place? Are you singing about the confidence you feel that no matter what happens, you will never be alone? Each brings with it a unique way to vocalize and visually present yourselves.
@BobFromMich You're right, now that I look at myself with that in mind and the sound off, I can't really tell where I am in the song. Lesson learned. Thanks for the tip. ;-)
@trudbol oh balls Julien, your stage presence is always fine. we don't need histrionics. i started listening and i thought, hmm not sure i'm going to get into this one - no i'm definitely not - oh damn, where did i put that box of tissues - waaahh!!! - it's sooooooo beautiful :(( - i love it :)
@BlueDeanCarcione Thank you! I'm far from having perfect pitch, I'm actually sing a bit flat most of the time. I practiced this song quite a bit, between college when I did the musical Carousel and the numerous takes I did for this video, using Gingerona's tracks for Soprano and Alto. Listen to professional barbershop singers and you'll hear some perfect pitch (try "Vocal Spectrum" on YouTube for instance). Cheers ;-)

@dushka2001 Thank you my friend, it's always a pleasure to read your comments.
I wish we could do more than write a few comments, like go out for a drink with amongst YouTubers and sing a few tunes together. Someday! ;-)
