The Mayor was correct in stopping Matt. The public comment period is for CITIZENS of ASHEVILLE to address the ASHEVILLE city council. Matt knows this, AND is NOT a citizen of Asheville. You people need to shut your mouths, get an education, deal with reality and GROW UP. YOU are the problem with society; you think as long as YOU want to hear something it must be heard, but have no problem censoring someone else.

The issue was that council voted to reinstate partisan elections for Asheville city council.

Mr. Mittan and the voters of Asheville prevailed against the dictatorial style of this leftist council. Mittan's efforts contributed to the issue being placed as a referendum. In November 2007, the voters REJECTED partisan elections, allowing more freedom of choice based on ISSUES not PARTY.
