  • She's mahvelous!

  • Nice slideshow and music, basilnelson!

  • Ah, Fenando Lamas was a lucky man.

  • I agree with bon1042, but I also think Esther had the most incredible face and body combination I've ever seen. She was basically perfect.

  • I still think Esther Williams had the most beautiful face of all. Not the perfect classic in terms of measurements and features, bone structure etc., as Elizabeth Taylor I think was placed. But for me Esther...

  • Wonderful work. Your tribute to all these beautiful and talented people who make life worth living in its most difficult times, is greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you. I endeavour to continue remembering the many great Stars who had given so much pleasure to millions world-wide.

  • Thank you for posting these "stills". I have a huge scrapbook of her & finally got to have her sign it in the 1990's at Nordstrom. She is my favorite, she was still beautiful & very funny!

  • When I was a 12 year old boy I had a crush on the lovely Esther, and 62 years later I still do.

  • I can't add much that hasn't been said already. She was gorgeous and I recently read her autobiography which was very informative.

  • She makes me smile every time I see her

  • Esther Williams was Queen of the water*

as well as the screen. A true lady by any measure): wonderful form and photogenic

face. Excellent photos of this timeless

    and Beautiful woman.

    Wonderful*

  • Amazing!! Great video! :)

  • Thank you. I like to work with 'stills', just like your work with video clips.

  • As Baz said she retired in the 60s. After the market for swimming movies died she had a multitude of flops majority of which havn't even been released commercially. Shortly thereafter she married Fernando Lamas. She started a swimwear business, she had an accident a few years back which confined her to a wheelchair for a while. Hopefully this great legend is with us for many more years. I myself loved the old swimming films.

  • Thanks for letting me know. On IMDB it does show her in a wheelchair, but I'm glad it appears this was a temporary measure.

  • How is she now? Does anyone know?

  • She retired in the 1960's, runs a successful swimwear business, and occasionally appears in TV chatshows.

  • Following the decline of MGM's 'Aqua Musicals' Esther was unsuccessful in dramatic roles. She did occasional television appearances which was always a treat for her fans. She was called "America's Mermaid" because it appeared that she could stay underwater forever. Ester had a beautiful stature and always very striking in a swimsuit. Fondly, Hedda

    Baz, these photos are beautiful!
