I was there last summer, and there was one family, totally frustrated, they just wanted to get out. In fact, there was so little interrest, the entrance fee was just like a few bucks (I think $3-6?, seniors are free). Let's just hope people don't get too distracted by current politics and harm these ancient places. They're priceless!
I didn't mean that I thought it wasn't...I guess I just would have expected Ancient Troy to be packed with tourists, and people collecting your money...like Rome or Athens.
It's been filmed on [THE] location.... thanks to current politics there is not much interrest in "Western" history, that is why the 'playground' is all empty. It's sad from a cultural and humanistic point, but it was a good oportunity to be there and soak in the history...
