And well, that's a natural behavior. They are superpredators, which means they need to kill their prey, a healthy one. That ensures its meat is not already decomposing.

Sure, some will eat prekilled mice, but others just won't... sometimes I feel sorry for the mouse, but that's the food chain, and snakes prevent rodents from overpopulating, saving us from some very dangerous health problems.

Good god mine must be about to come a super giant one lol. I got her in April and she is three years old and was 3ft when I got her she is now 4.5ft. She has gone back to the exotics shop to be bred with a lemon pastel and even they said she has grown alot. They said she was massive lol. She has never missed a meal or bitten anyone.

@FartherAway420 ummm, a goose and a mongoose are 2 TOTALLY different things. If you snake isnt eating for 6 months at a time you really should force feed it if you want it to stay alive. I'm glad it finally took to the mouse though! If he is not eating regularly enough then try feeding it 2 in one day back to back. Often a snake when it wants to eat will eat as much as possible and will have no problem with 2.

Usually that's the safe way as a mouse or any live feeder can cause serious injury and even death to your snake but the Ball Python is notorious for being a um... picky eater, sometimes a snake will only accept live feed although it's best to feed with pre-killed. Also you guys should get a Brazilian rainbow boa, there my favorite and It doesn't look like you guys have one.

i have no personal experience but from what ive heard there about a level 3.5 (1=garter snake in a bucket-10 burmese python in 100 gallon tank) so i mean if you have the money to afford to get whateever in takes to take care of it then it should be pretty easy...also before you buy read up on it and watch as many how to vids as you can...hope this helped

they make good begginer reptiles but if its your first reptile i would reccomend a leopard gecko but if you really want a snake then a ball python is one of the best begginer snakes
