@jvandenboogert It is great if you realize what the Buddha pendent represents.I have many Buddha Statues and amulets my parents and friends gave me on my alta.They serve as a reminder of his teaching to me.The Buddha said those who see his teaching(Dharma) see him.I don't have any Buddha amulet hanging on my neck but I try my best to follow his teaching.I've been happy and at peace with myself,can't ask for more.

@thewizardofawe Yo dude if you're Muslim you should take that back because even is Islam Buddha is a respected figure because he was a prophet of God, Allah whatever you want to call the Creator, not just some statue with no conscience. We can't judge other faiths because they don't share the same beliefs. It's a good thing that we don't in this case because it's a chance to learn about Buddhism. Only God can judge them and no human is God.

I hope all spiritual seekers will help stop animal sacrifice as up to 500,000 poor helpless animals were slaughtered during the Gadhi Mai festival in Nepal, this is a practice done out of ignorance, the only type of sacrifice should be Self-sacrifice where we go beyond our body and mind, not killing innocent animals as they are also part of God's creation. Vegetarian diet is the rightous path in this day/ age, so many buddhists are still eating lots of animal flesh, this is a form of violence !
