ringofwealth gives a better chance of item off the rare drop table, and the rare drop table for fire giants consists of a couple good things (like 34noted torstols-1m), and a lot of "nothings". so it increases your chances of getting better things, but at the price of getting nothing a lot. i think there not helpful at all.
about 2 years ago i was ranging steels and got d legs and d 2h with only like 20 kills apart =p but didnt get anything good for the next few thousand or so =\
btw guys i heard that using a ring of wealth is kinda bad at fire giants bcuz d meds and d spears are "rare" at fire giants so if you wanna get rune scims and all that other stuff don't use a ring of wealth at fire giants, that's all i heard though, i'm killing fire giants without wealth now. i got a fire battlestaff in about 20 minutes without wealth. with my welath i got nothing in 20 minutes, so to me i think wealth is a bit of a waste unless you goin on like draconic visage hunting and stuff

they do, and they also drop rune 2h's which are around 60k now
