Trinidad and Tobago has cashews too, ours gets much bigger.... but theirs looks sweeter than ours. we eat the cashew apples and make local wine with them. but never make the mistake of trying to bite open a freshly roasted cashew nut. the oil it contains will blister your mouth and lips really badly.

I tried that cashew juice. It's exactly as how they said it; a mix between apple and plum. They even carbonize it which makes it have a tangy ginger ale-like tone.

They only sell it down South around Phuket, you can't find them anywhere else in Thailand.

I have to tell you, it's not that good IMO, here in El Salvador we have cashew trees, hell I have one right here in my yard, the yellow variety [same ting as red except color, we have reds here too], and the drink actually leaves your tongue and throat with a dry feeling, the cashew apple itself is eaten here in slices, it's all pulp since the seed is, well, the nut, lol.

In my family private land in Malaysia , we used to plant Cashew trees and my grandmother process her very own cashews without having to go and buy them.

We use them in the famous Indian Malay style of Briyani Rice , Gravies , in Grills and even as a Sauce.

Cashews are placed in a food processor and processed before adding in sunflower oil , honey and salt.

That would be eaten with piping hot french breads and spicy braised lamb shanks and meat. Wonderful.

When my family lived in Thailand, we had a neighbor with a cashew tree. Me and my sister used to climb the tall cinder block fence to get some cashews. To this day, we never found out if they minded that at all...
