the extra battery is for the clock i think. if you take the main battery out, there it a little cover that you take off and you put the battery in there.
that cap you showed at 44 seconds it was a lens cap u ass fuck i dont even have it and i just guessed ur a ass fuck. u couldnt even figure that out... wow!
The little litium battery that goes into the camera is used to keep the time. Just that. And some parameters. If you remove it, you will loose the date, the time, etc.

the second battery is for the backup, mine is within the lcd screen... it will run on that for extra juice if you didn't have your charger with you
