@iLik3c0o0ki3s I don't think so. It could be but Idk. I usually use it with spinning outfit to skip under docks and around vegetation or structure. You can twitch it but I find it best to just let it sink. Open water works too if you know there are fish there.
@freewill51 what he is showing you is just a basic texas rig, with senko's you can rig them wacky (which is straight though the center) style or even nose hook them and have a weed guard on your hook.
@Bassman018 fuck you bassvag. maybe if you were a real fisherman you'd stop making videos of the little toys your mommy buys you and grow up and make a video of yourself catching some fucking fish. huh troll? WHAT?

Gary yamamoto made the first senko bait that started everything to his son's Kinami Flash which I described in the details. Truthfully i call everything thats made by GYB a senko because its coming out of the same factory
@philly442 you sir are a dumbshit, A senko is made by gary yammoto, I know that a senko is called a stickbait, but a stick bait is a category, a senko is just like a yum dinger, the name of a company's stickbait. so under stand what you are even talking about before you talk crap.
It's easier on your senko to wet the rest of the hook before you slide it up to expose the elbow. I started doing this and my yamamoto's last twice as long.
Oh i see. I use a 2/0 for 5" worms but i guess people like different things. when i use a hook bigger than that i can't skin hook the worm really good. i like skin hooking them so they will not hang up;
hey man, if you are catching fish and your doing good then you shouldnt change anything. Just stick to what ever works and make adjustments to perfect other weaker aspects.
The best for me is the original Gary Yamamoto baits. Even though its pretty pricey, it works better than some of the other ones ive used. but thats just me.
use a 4/o ewg bleeding bait hook with these or any other lure like it. tiki sticks, senkos, yum dingers all the same.... hey boyi good tutorial dont let these guys bust your balls too hard
Man, u criticize too much. Fishing is fishing and I didnt say I never lost a fish ever. I said I never lost a fish on the senko..dude. Ok man, i dont like arguing online cause its pointless. why dont you suggest something to me and maybe we can both improve our fishing instead of jabbing at earch other. Finally Kinami is made by the same company as GYB plus it saids on the package Gary Yamamoto baits.
I know thats not a senko. its actually a kinami flash which is basically made by gary yamamoto. So technically it is a senko. I have caught plenty of bass, perch, pickerel, and a lot others with that rig. It has never failed me once and i have never lost a fish, plus fishing around cover, u dont want to expose ur hook because you might get weeds and such. Senkos are great but theyre are too over fished these day.
When I use the senko, I rarely use a bullet weight in the front. The only time that is neccessary is when your fishing against the wind on shore and you need to get the bait out fair enough past the weed lines. And keep catching them big ones. In CA, how big is considered big over there?
Thank You very much for the complement. I really never tried the wacky rig and when I did I didnt have as much luck as I did with the Texas rig. But I will sure to try it next time.
I like that bad ass ending with the hand gestures!!!! Texas rigging is the best way to hook a worm and best way to hook a bass.... See you on the water!!!!!! : )
ya. I just realized i deleted ur comment by accident. I thought it was reply but instead it was remove. But i love smallmouth. and theres one lure that ill never leave home. its the lucky craft sammy. nothing else works like it. ive caught at least a dozen monster smallies on that by going only a few times
When yamamoto made the senkos he only sold them to sporting good stores, or small tackle shops. This is why you don't see yamamoto senkos in walmart, kmart etc. His son wanted to make a profit and sell them to walmart, kmart etc, so gary allowed him to distribute them to the stores, only he put them under a different name, and package. The bait is made by yamamoto with the same formula. The only reason it appears as if the Kinami are cheaper, is because the amount of baits is less in the package
Thanks for the info. I knew they worked and were made the same but i didnt know the history. Thanks for sharing. Is there any special way that you fish the senko/flash that really worked for you?
I don't fish them too often anymore because im tired of seeing them. Around where I fish everyone and their mother fishes em, just plain out tired of fishing them, I am much happier using a jig, or flipping/pitching a pegged soft plastic. Or throwing a crank/spinnerbait.
Although regarding your question, you pretty much cast em out, let them fall on semi-slack line, while paying attention for your line to get any "twitches" or pick ups to indicate a hit.
Then when the senko (aka stickbait), its the bottom you let it pause for a few secs, if nothing happens, you lift your rod tip to get the senko to rise back upwards, and then let it fall back to the bottom again, and just repeat the process.
The senkos action comes mainly from the fall, it wiggles as it falls. So you want to keep repeating the falling process to generate majority of your strikes. Although you should keep it paused on the bottom when it falls, bass have a tendency to pick it up
i used to use them very often and the same way. I dont use them anymore because theres really no challenge in using them. Now i mainly use spinners and old school plastic worms with straight shank hooks. Also i use a lot ratttling crankbaits. Lately ive been experimenting and one of my favorite baits is the lucky craft sammy, it catches fish everywhere and no matter the condition. Smallmouths are especially attracted to them in the morning where I live so you gotta try them out.
Ya, I've used the smamy, great walk the dog bait, its one of those baits I bring out when nothing else is working, or if theres a good topwater bite, but the standards just aren't doin it. I am shy to throwing it because I fish from the bank, and its an expensive lure to lose.
If you like traps, try a Luckycraft Lv-0, it works great in shallow water (1-3feet), it will ride in the mid water lvl with a steady retrieve, great for bank fishing, won't clean the bottom like some other traps.
Just incase you guys didn't know, the kinami flash and the yamamoto senko are one in the same. The bait is made with the same formula, same salt content, same everything, the action is exacltly the same. The only differences are Kinami has a few colors yamamoto senkos don't have, the package is colored differently, and the name on the package is different. Other then that they're exactly the same. I am running out of room, so I'll post once more to explain.
Im pretty sure they come in 3,4 and 5. thats the freshwater sizes but i know they make them for saltwater too and those are much bigger. Those are probably over 7. but for freshwater and bass, best size is 5. I have caught many with that and they are very effective. Get watermellon color or some shade of green, They work the best for me.
hey are you from UK? if u r then thats pretty cool I have a few packs unopened. But you should be able to buy them online at bassproshops or other sites like tackle warehouse although they are quite expensive. and i never buy my online.
Ya I know, its made by the same company which is by yamamoto. So in the end i dont think it makes a difference cause the action is the same and same price.
pink colored baits i have never tried to use. I think they are good but didnt get the chance to use them. now im starting to use more jigs like i used to. Tubes are great.
i fished for several years now, i used to fish the texas rig with the senko a lot but now i use other baits that are not just a deadsticking bait..thanks for the complement
unless u set the hook like crazy then how the hell are fish supposed to get the hook in there mouth wen it isnt even exposed thats why i dont like texas rig i do texas rig but bring the hook poing out of the bait
Well thats why u buy a sensitive rod that can detect the bite and watch ur line. I have never lost a Fish once on that rig because I just watch the line and count to 3 and set the hook. Also I cant really expose the hook with this wide gap gamagatsu hook. I see what ur saying but this rig has never failed me ever.
That's actually called the texposed rig (texas exposed) where the point of the hook is left exposed on the outside of the senko. This rig is usually for thin cover where water is mostly open. Putting the point into the senko makes it weedless.
Ya i dont really get technical with the wording but im just trying to teach people a simple rig. Nothing fancy. I NEVER ever leave the hook exposed unless im using a straight shank. Covering the hook has the same hooksetting power as exposed and it has never failed me.
I know its a easy rig but still a lot of people out there do not know how to texas rig worms so if you guys tink you can do better, then why dont you make one yourself instead of criticizing me.
Texas rig is really easy to you but there are a lot of people out there that has no idea hoe to make the senko rigged straight...fii3sse thanks for backing me up
ya definitely, well Im located in New England so its still really cold here and we are having a huge storm today but would you go right after ice our or would you wait a couple of weeks for the water to warm up?
ya man, I thought u wanted a baitcast rod, just get any st croix spinning and you'll be set. I dont kno wat to tell you man, those rods are just sick. so def try to go to dicks sporting goods and see if they got those, aight? One thing I love to do right after ice out is go to where there are rocks, flats, and transitions and use bass jigs, I prolly caught some of my biggest bass during these times, but since u wanna use spinning, a tube will def do.
I tell you Ive been using st croix crankbait model 6'6" med rod for a few years its high quality the vibration's great and I love the balance on that thing. I never used a shimano but Im hooked to st croix and Im prolly not gonna change for a while. Im going to put some videos of rigging jigs and such so look for them on my channel prolly real soon.
you should always look at st. croix they are abt $160-250 but if ur on a tight budget you can get some allstar but st croix is by far my favorite, great fast action tip and sensitive and most of all its got great balance. Where we I live in the north we dont get shad but only shiners and sunfish but its ok tho. For reels Im familiar with flueger but I had a quantum energy with less than 10 bb but it was such a great reel. good luck. cant wait til ice out and go get em.
I agree, tried those techniques b4, they do work. I have found one bait in the spring, summer, and fall that always produces.. its the lucky craft sammy, its expensive but I tell you its really high quality and catches smallmouth like crazy they'll come up from 20 ft and just ahnilate it. Also hula grubs by yamamoto with an open jighead are deadly. they slaughter the lakes up in the northeast. Keep posting. Im glad that Im getting feedback.
ya I kno wat ur talking abt the weedless wacky rig but u realize the thing is basically a wire and once its tapped the wire come loose and u have to take it out and re-rig it.
Im glad to hear it, I started fishing a while ago no knowing how to do anything. but comes with time, thanks for checkin my vid out and posting. let me kno if theres anything else I can show you
wacky is not always good. I kno wat ur saying. when texas rig is in heavy cover or being casted it slips but you can put some worm glue on it. I dont really like wacky because it gets hung out in weeks although it does have great action.
The thing abt the sinker is also not true because that works great when you are targeting bottom feeding smallmouth. Me and my buddies have been producing on that rig for a long time and it never fails.
lol at the hand jester at the end, like ur a dealer at a casino...i do that shit when i show someone whats up..hahahha..

223roll 3 years ago
yeah i know i just like my way of riging cause i like the hook to be exposed
223roll 3 years ago
Thats cool man i respect that. Everyone has different preferences.
boyi 3 years ago
unless u set the hook like crazy then how the hell are fish supposed to get the hook in there mouth wen it isnt even exposed thats why i dont like texas rig i do texas rig but bring the hook poing out of the bait
223roll 3 years ago
Well thats why u buy a sensitive rod that can detect the bite and watch ur line. I have never lost a Fish once on that rig because I just watch the line and count to 3 and set the hook. Also I cant really expose the hook with this wide gap gamagatsu hook. I see what ur saying but this rig has never failed me ever.
boyi 3 years ago
That's actually called the texposed rig (texas exposed) where the point of the hook is left exposed on the outside of the senko. This rig is usually for thin cover where water is mostly open. Putting the point into the senko makes it weedless.

Ya i dont really get technical with the wording but im just trying to teach people a simple rig. Nothing fancy. I NEVER ever leave the hook exposed unless im using a straight shank. Covering the hook has the same hooksetting power as exposed and it has never failed me.
boyi 3 years ago
No doubt! The main point of any rig is to catch fish! Catch em son!

i caught a 12 inch rock bass off of one of those yesturday
500ssrider22 3 years ago
did you catch a rock bass in ocean with one of those??
I always wanted to try them in the ocean but never got to it
boyi 3 years ago
no i live in michigan way far away from the ocean. I caught a smallmouth last night with the same senko i caught the rockbass on
500ssrider22 3 years ago
I know its a easy rig but still a lot of people out there do not know how to texas rig worms so if you guys tink you can do better, then why dont you make one yourself instead of criticizing me.
boyi 3 years ago
i hate this video, u made a texas rig which is ever so easy and ur dumb hand dance crap at the end
dogsrock619 3 years ago
dogsrock? what a stupid fucking name you are the idiot fucking dumb shit
Fiin3sse 3 years ago
Texas rig is really easy to you but there are a lot of people out there that has no idea hoe to make the senko rigged straight...fii3sse thanks for backing me up

I started a new comment so wat u think abt that??^
boyi 4 years ago
ya definitely, well Im located in New England so its still really cold here and we are having a huge storm today but would you go right after ice our or would you wait a couple of weeks for the water to warm up?
boyi 4 years ago
ya man, I thought u wanted a baitcast rod, just get any st croix spinning and you'll be set.

Im going to put some videos of rigging jigs and such so look for them on my channel prolly real soon.
boyi 4 years ago
you should always look at st. croix they are abt $160-250 but if ur on a tight budget you can get some allstar but st croix is by far my favorite, great fast action tip and sensitive and most of all its got great balance.

Awesome, I always wanted to go to Fl to catch some monster largemouths and tarpon
boyi 4 years ago
ya I kno wat ur talking abt the weedless wacky rig but u realize the thing is basically a wire and once its tapped the wire come loose and u have to take it out and re-rig it.
boyi 4 years ago
Im glad to hear it, I started fishing a while ago no knowing how to do anything. but comes with time, thanks for checkin my vid out and posting. let me kno if theres anything else I can show you
boyi 4 years ago
wacky is not always good. I kno wat ur saying. when texas rig is in heavy cover or being casted it slips but you can put some worm glue on it. I dont really like wacky because it gets hung out in weeks although it does have great action.
boyi 4 years ago
The thing abt the sinker is also not true because that works great when you are targeting bottom feeding smallmouth. Me and my buddies have been producing on that rig for a long time and it never fails.
boyi 4 years ago
what size hook are you using for 5 inch senkos?
ropa1117 4 years ago
Im using a 3/0 gamagatsu ewg hook, you can get away with 4/0 or smaller but those wont give you the right balance when its sinking.
boyi 4 years ago
alright thanks. great vid!
ropa1117 4 years ago
NP I sometime will use a weedless jig head too wen fishing aorund rocks, try it. its real effective on smallmouth
