@Zoroastrianistic If you don't like Alicia why in the hell you are always on her videos promoting Mariah? Go on a Mariah video if you love her so much! There were many singers whose voices had changed like Xtina for example, whose voice become even more croaky and raspy due to flawed technique. Alicia voice still sounds beautiful raspy or not. She has a soulful sound that is well suited for her music.
