@ctcole77 Actually, NIST says that structural damage played no part in the collapse initiation. If you think about it, it's obvious. Asymmetrixcal structural damage like a corner chopped off or a 30 foot hole wold have generated toppling forces, and there was no toppling until the very end of the collapse.
"The heat from the uncontrolled fires caused steel floor beams & girders to thermally expand, leading to a chain of events that caused a key structural column to fail. The failure of this structural column then initiated a fire-induced progressive collapse of the entire building."

There is fundamental differences between concrete and steel buildings and a steel building can never ever fall at free fall speed without blasting every supportive structure all the way down to GZ. He said they were anticipating a jetliner at LOW SPEED, looking to land at a local airport, as had happened before. And as Robertson pointed out, they did not factor in widespread fires that could not be fought because the sprinkler standpipe was destroyed by the plane.

@nebula25x Those infamous red chips did not burn very vigorously and released heat was quite low. Since differential scanning calorimetry in Harrit's paper was perfomed under air instead of inert gas and chips contained a lot of organic material (probably some binder), observed exothermic reaction over temperatures 430 degrees of C was very, very probably some oxidation of organic matter with oxygen from air. Consider some non-pyrotechnic layered materials, anything else does not belong here.
@nebula25x No, it's been reviewed by other "truthers" not by regular neutral scientists, not one. I can name more scientists who have picked apart Jones and Harrit's paper than agreed with it (true story). The scientist I believe who Jones sent his sample to couldn't find the grey layer of the red grey chips. Plus as long as there is oxygen being exposed to the sample in the test , then there is no way to tell if it's legit, because of the iron oxide. Most scientists agree it was paint.

Why isn't WTC1-2-3-4-5 the "smoking gun" You find one building out of 7 that collapses (like the others) and from one angle it looks odd you think you have something. Then the evidence is tested by scientific method it fell from uncontrolled fires for 7 hours. So what was it and does it pass scientific evaluation?

Asymmetrixcal structural damage like a corner chopped off or a 30 foot hole wold have generated toppling forces, and there was no toppling until the very end of the collapse.

There is fundamental differences between concrete and steel buildings and a steel building can never ever fall at free fall speed without blasting every supportive structure all the way down to GZ. @nebula25x Those infamous red chips did not burn very vigorously and released heat was quite low. Since differential scanning calorimetry in Harrit's paper was perfomed under air instead of inert gas and chips contained a lot of organic material (probably some binder), observed exothermic reaction over temperatures 430 degrees of C was very, very probably some oxidation of organic matter with oxygen from air. Consider some non-pyrotechnic layered materials, anything else does not belong here.

I can name more scientists who have picked apart Jones and Harrit's paper than agreed with it (true story). The scientist I believe who Jones sent his sample to couldn't find the grey layer of the red grey chips. Plus as long as there is oxygen being exposed to the sample in the test , then there is no way to tell if it's legit, because of the iron oxide. Most scientists agree it was paint.

@proudfootz i generated a lot of hysteria from Miss Sargent Spook, Dr. Feret and kushsmokkeralt when I simply posted the titles of pro-official story scientific reports and encouraged others to read that detritus. I'm glad to see that they've provided additional references since "scientific" pro-OCT reports are the best starting point for ripping the official story to shreds.
