  • you are doing a great job keep it up

  • your cool and how many guns do you have

  • The sound on this video is good with the water sounds. I like these since it feels like we are visiting around a campfire.

  • Hickok45= the greatest thing in TN....

  • I just wanted to say that I prefer your style, even though it may be more painful to start all over again if you mess up.

Personally, I can't enjoy youtube videos as much when the guy cuts in and out just so he sounds 'just right'. Feels fake, doesn't have the natural flow of someone actually just talking.

  • Huh, so that's where I put my ak

  • Great day for fishing. ;)

  • That was great, I really enjoy your video's!!

    Thanks, Mike

  • quick on the trigger with that ak... wow sounded full auto lol

  • howdy hickok. You've been using those ZEM ear protectors for a while.

    How do you like them?

  • They work pretty well. I'll probably wear them more this winter, as they do double duty when it's a cold day, right?

  • i thought i saw a fish flopping around! forget mercury in fish how about some good ol fashion lead :)

  • Hey Hickok45, I just thought i would let you know that i left my ak-47 buried under the leaves in your woods... So if you could just go ahead and send it back to me i would appreciate it. :)

  • I'd better run about 100,000 rounds through it first to make sure it's in good shape. Then I'll box it up and send it back.

  • haha. alright, let me know when you get done with it. i'll be waiting patiently.

  • @hickok45 lol

  • what model, AK - 47, is that one i like the looks on that?

  • This one is a WASR 10/63. I wanted to step back into the water with one like this. I need to adjust the sights a tad, and some older steel magazines don't fit tightly (front to rear slack), but with Tapco magazines, it's shoots like a dream. It has a Tapco trigger, and it feels much better than either of my ARs.

  • thank Hickok45!! you are the best.

  • Thought I had posted this but maybe not. That was a good point on the over emphasis of a guns ability to shoot from a rest. To a degree it isn't going to matter what your holding, i'd say about 90% has to do with the shooter and maybe i'm underestimating, but I think it's somewhere in the realm. Also you have guns like glocks, which grip angle helps with barrel orientation or as some people call it, pointing. You can find the AK's at bass pro next to the dynomite for fishing.

  • kinda want an ak, but the romanian wasr 10's i saw at the gun store last time i went were crappy quality. maybe if i find a nice wasr. anybody got a taurus tracker in .357 magnum?

  • nice ak. wish it was mine, hell, wish I had one like itl lol

    great vidio keep them comming.

  • hickok you found my ak i see, just let me know when you find my suitcase full of 100 dollar bills, i forget where i left that damn thing.

ps you can keep the ak.

  • Hollows and hollers are the same rite?

  • yea basicly

  • No... Hollows have creeks in them. Hollers have cricks in them. Not even close to the same thing.

  • You sure have a pretty place to live and shoot.

  • LOL nice AK! I think that's the first time I've seen you with an eastern bloc rifle.

  • cool vid but i wanted to know why do you sniff the gun

  • Because smokeless gun powder smells like jesus rapped in bacon...

  • I can tell how many rounds are left in the gun by the way it smells.

  • redneckjwillo, sniffing a warm gun increases your acuracy

  • Been here since the beginning and I really look forward to these VLogs. Please keep these awesome videos coming.Thank your Son too for all his hard work.5/5

  • I'm sure there won't be any more sharks left in that waterpool, thanks for making it safer! :D

  • nice thoughts on the never ending subject

  • Hum, now that I think about it, I may have left an AK lieing around last time I was in the area. Thanks for finding it.

  • thats awesome, i am stuck between the 2 because i like the 12 rd capacity of the .40 226 but i like the fire power of the 220 in .45 but it only holds 8 rds, which would you choose for a home defense/shooting at the range having fun gun?

  • If you don't reload .40 is a lot cheaper to shoot. It might be important to you to know that after penetrating auto glass .45 acp will often not carry enough velocity to penetrate deep enough into the human body to hit vital organs.

  • True, however most people don't realize that laminated windshields are very tough by design. The convex and slanted shape is designed to deflect stuff (including bullets), much like the slanted armor on tanks.

Even 5.56 often bounces off of windshields entirely with no penetration. They did a test on the Box o truth, 9mm and .40 actually fragmented through the windshield and probably would not have killed the target, .45 ACP lost a lot of velocity but more or less stayed intact.

  • Your sense of humor adds another level to every video. The info and knowledge to us was going on for over 8 minutes...then the AK shows up out of no where.

Quantity of vids are one then...but it is the quality and thought that I enjoy.

Keep up the good work...when you have time.

  • Hahahaha! Awesome stuff Hickok!

  • Great Vlog mate. Some good points made as well. Thanks.

  • lol when the AK came out. always look forward to your videos.

  • shooting into water around big boulders is pretty risky

  • Awesome..... I totally didn't see the AK coming!

  • yah support is a great thing here on youtube...love you tube...keep of the vlogs..there still entertaining...love the rain in the back ground...hahahah...never without his gun..fun fun...

  • Then he pulls the AK out at the end... GREAT!

  • Have you ever owned any sig sauers hickok?..what do you think of them?

  • Yes, I've had a 226 and a 220, but I traded them off at least 10 years ago. Good guns, but the double to single action trigger wouldn't perform anywhere close to what I was able to do with a Glock. They are nice guns, though.

  • Your alright! AK-47....nice.

  • Wow have been waiting to see if you had an Ak-47 for a long time:)..

    Thanks great Vlog.

  • How often do you get a new gun?

  • Oh, I might trade or buy something every few months or so. Just depends.

  • Enjoying the nature - BANG BANG BANG! That's great!

  • Thanks for a nice vlog again.

And for the first time thanks and kudos for junior...

    As always, NICE vid

  • AK Fishing. Nice :)

  • damm loved that ak in the end ! nice sound in the speakers :)

  • i am waiting for the 30-30 review

  • Don't have one; traded it for a .35 Remington. Sorry.

  • i totally agree with you on accuracy with pistol shooting. I like to think of it as its not how accurate the GUN is, but characteristics it has that tend to make YOU more accurate. For example, many people shoot better with a 1911 than a glock because of its traditional single action trigger. However, both guns are equally accurate.

  • THERE is my ak! Thanks Hickok for finding that :P haha

  • Thanks for all you do here on Youtube. Fun, interesting discussions, and of course the shooting is great. And thanks to your son for shooting the vids. He does a great job!

  • excelent video. oh and i am happy you found my ak i acedently drop it out there when i was dove hunting earlier in the year all the leaves fell and when i went back looking for it i couldnt find it lol. seriously keep up the great work i enjoy all your videos.

  • Hickok, have you ever owned any Sig Sauer's?

  • Great vid. once again. In you area is there a powder availability issue? I find it hard to stick to good load due to the fact that I can't always find a particular powder I was using. Also, what is in that can off to your right?, lol.

  • Just my Coke.

  • great vid hickok45, i think i have a bass rod like that. i'm going trolling this weekend , i think ill use the marlin 1895g and reel in the big ones. i'm looking forward to some of your handloading vids.

  • HIckok, it was me. I was the one who left the AK buried in the leaves there. Just send me a PM and I'll give you my address so you can ship it back to me. I'll even pay for shipping. Thanks.

  • Don't listen to this guy, he's a liar. That was actually MY rile buried in the leaves.

  • Did you see that bass heading for the hills?

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • Is it full auto??????????

  • full auto is illegal for civilians to own. Semi auto only.

  • @Anarchist86ed Incorrect, they just require jumping through hoops to own and paying a bunch of money. Although certain states do ban the ownership of fully automatic weapons.

  • no it isn't

  • not true, you just have to be in a state that allows it (which I would think TN would) and have a class 2 federal firearms license.

  • I used to think so also, but the fact is that fully auto weapons (class 3) can be acquired by civilians but only through extensive background checks, fees, paperwork, and not too mention the cost of the guns. The prices for these machine guns are crazy. Average $5,000 - $15,000. And the reason for that is in May of 1986, Reagan signed into law a bill that forbids registering machine guns manufactured after 1986 for civilian use. Naturally, fewer of these guns remain in circulation over time.

  • which in my opion is an unconstitutional law... seeing how direct wording of the second amendmint is right to bear arms shall not be infringed upon. seem to me like that law is infringing upon that right. should get a nation wide class action lawsuit going against the goverment for that law. just my $0.02.

  • dp665, you're right, both the spirit and the letter (for those who know how to read, anyway) of the Second Amendment clearly give individual citizens the right to all types of weapons, the intent being that we the people could overthrow the government should that become necessary. Obviously the current government rules rather than serves, so they don't much like the Second Amendment and will ignore it whenever possible. Whether to challenge laws at this level depends on who is on the bench.

  • I agree. And most important of all, now that full-autos are almost impossible to get for most people, next thing to go is our semi-autos.

  • hi...

just wanna know if you tried the Remington 870 reloading 'myth' after?

    thx~: )

  • I really enjoy these! Thanks!

  • I completely agree with you on combat handgun accuracy. Technique (stance, grip, etc.) is the main factor in handgun accuracy. Plus, I think how a gun fits your hand and how naturally you're able to present the firearm does have a bearing. As long as the gun functions well, it should provide adequate accuracy for most practical applications.

  • 5/5m8

  • More Ak-47 videos!!! Is that a WASR-10?

  • Good job Hickok

  • Now why would somebody leave a perfectly good AK just layin around in some leaves? That's a darn shame.

  • I do miss Tennessee.

  • Thanks for another informative v-log, I really enjoy them.

I was just in Bass Pro the other day, but I didn't see that particular model of AK. Maybe it was special order?? :-)

  • It's over in the fishing department!

  • You talked me into getting my 1st Glock. Gonna get a 26 or 27 with NY1 trigger. I normally shoot Sig & Kel-Tec. Appreciate your videos thx.

  • Thanks for the pistol accuracy talk. It makes me laugh too, to hear people go on. For all practical purposes hitting a paper plate at 25 feet anywhere with my g.i. 1911 makes me happy.I watched a vid recently of rifleman where he poked a lot of fun at these guys. Enjoy your channel !

  • This video will be processing for about another hour. Thanks.

    Hickok45
