I used an Ocean for two years and i am so glad im not using it anymore.

The web on it was very bad and would crash more times than not.

The email would go down for weeks and sometimes for a whole month then start working again only to stop working. I spent more time pissed at the phone than enjoying it and as u see at the end of this video it crashes a lot.

Its the end of a Great Era. I got the Ocean 1 when it came out... and when my 2 year contract ended i upgraded to the Ocean 2 for free... with a 1 year contract. 1 year Blade5276.

But yea... Sprints gonna kill it off. I dont know what im gonna miss more... the PHONE or the unltd DATA plan. All of us Helio veterans are spoiled on data.

So Helio merged with Virgin mobile who then merged with sprint and sprint is killing off everything Helio. I love the ocean 2 but I got a letter from sprint saying that as off the 25th of may all Helio and Virgin phones and plans be going the way of the dinosaurs.

this phone came out a while ago, I dont believe that virgin mobile offers any of the helio devices anymore, you could probably pick one up on ebay, but i'm not sure if you could activate it on virgin mobile, you may want to call and see

If you mean the "circle" pad, then yes, it's an optical sensory button that you scroll by merely sliding your finger (or physically press the circle left-right-up-down if you prefer that).

It's an awesome phone, a bit ugly looking but KICKS ASS. I have the Ocean 2 and it's the best damn deal in terms of price and features in ANY phone.

Yes you can. I have 3GP format videos on my SIM card (2 GB). I have family videos, ripped YouTube videos (even though I can watch YouTube thru the phone) and yes, PORN videos (3GP format converted on my PC)!

I've had the Ocean 2 since March 2009 and its still awesome.

The way I do it is by downloading a freeware program called Xmedia Recode from freewarefiles(dot)com. Then I convert the file into 3GP format.

Then I just plug in the Helio with the included USB cable and drag and drop from PC folder to Helio folder.

You may have to experiment with video settings to get the best resolution.

Honestly, I think my first helio is much, much better.

The original ocean has speakers so you can play your music loudly whenever you want, which is a bonus for meeeee at times, whenever I don't want to wear my earphones.

The original helio also has flash for the camera, which is extremely useful for mee!

I would stick w/ the original Helio, it's basically the same thing.

I wanted to get an ocean 2, however you have to go with their contract plan, and the cheapest package with virgin mobile is $65.00 a month. Not Cheap!! Now That's $780.00 bucks a year. Oh i didn't include taxes. Sheesh. I'd rather just go on a paygo type basic phone plan for about $200.00 a year and with that $580.00 leftover, I can buy me a brand new dual core toshiba laptop with case and mouse included....

HOWEVER, your phone flashes a "new message alert" bar at the top with the name of the person msging you and the Subject header of the email/message.

So you may be surfing with Opera Mini, and a new message pops up, but you see it is just spam or some idiot you don't want to talk to right now.

the best way to go is to get the phone online. Helio stores are really hard to find and are really only in big cities. There are only like four helio stores in chicago but if you want to find a store go to the helio web page and they have a find a store thing

HAHA!! Wow. It just freezes while using the browser and then shuts down.... looks like they didn't improve anything at all. I have the first Ocean and the Fin and even though I'm very happy with the service itself, the amount of lag while texting and the shutting down when the phone can't keep up with you is REALLY annoying. I'm a fast texter and I get tired of waiting for the phone to keep up with me then leaving out complete words. But hey, $65 a month, it's worth it.
