I met a girl in Ohio. Blue eyes, blonde hair, and all the southern charm you could wish for. She convinced me to go back home with her to Indiana for a few days. I told her that I am in Ohio for a few days for vacation, I have to go back to NYC tomorrow. But she convinced me anyways. So after I went to IN, and nothing really happened, I left her house at 11:30pm at night, and drove on no sleep to NYC. I arrived in NY the next day at 3pm. This song brings back all of those memories :) Thanks Pete
@Adamc753 hahaha, man we have all driven down that highway w/ those songs to carry us along... your post brought back a few memories and this song is a legend for us two lane travelers... carry on and hold onto that wheel..." gettin down ole 41"....
i had never heard this by Peter..it is good but ..i think Patty Loveless almost crying out the lyrics..when you are stoned .or.drunk or got the blues..it just might send ya over the edge... it really sounds like a country tune to me.
I have his song in my Zune collection, when i heard it this morning i thoght the guitar sounded so Stones like & then thought is this one of those Keith songs. Peter Wolf is Awsome so is the Geils Band
Peter Wolf and Mick Jagger...this totally kicks ass!!

Typically Peter Wolf's singing, here, reminds me a lot of Keith Richards', so the duet with Jagger is very appropriate.

When I'm passed the boulevards
Out here underneath the stars
I've been flyin' past the houses, farms and fields
Leavin' all I know, back home
Rushin' through the cold night air
...I'm holdin' on to nothin', but the wheel
Stayin' clear of the interstate
I'm seekin' out those old two lanes
An' tryin' to explain the way I feel

is that Mick in the background? I like that he recognizes this a great song. This is a cool version, but I like Patty's version much better.
