Personally, I think the comic/fake look of everything was on purpose, to give it a more humorous edge of sorts as evident throughout the video. It's meant to be whacky and nonsensical in contrast to the song's obvious darker edge.

And quite frankly, I like this one and admire it for that. It puts a smile on my face when they're all in the firetruck and the driveer makes a hard turn, they all lean to the side really fast, yet with casual looks on their faces.
