  • So do pyramid show that they are unhealthy?

  • ahahah!

    awesome!!

  • lol thats great.. i love how you can see the whole shrub shake before he shows up.. do you mind giving a tour of his habitat?

i can see very little pyramiding = superb !! gj jim

  • is habitat is in transition at this moment. he's got ~1/3 acre to roam around in right now. i've landscaped about 4000 sq. ft. with tortoise friendly plants (grass, hibiscus, natal plums, and i encourage dandelions). he seems pretty happy. they're a lot smarter than you might think!

  • Hey thats awsome i got my self 4 herman tortoise do you have any idea how to tell if youre grass has pesticides?? im planning on making a pen for my tortoises

  • we don't breed them, as they are cute when small, but grow into monsters pretty quickly. We bought him at 7 yrs old, and he weighed around 75lb. He's gotten bigger, and I'd guess weighs 80-85lb. He likes to dig, and has dug burrows 10-20ft underground. We also have a small, 2 yr old sulcata, as well as a couple of California desert tortoises (now legally registered) that we were given by a neighbor who had found them abandoned at a rental unit he owned.

  • @jimpyle wow thats neat, cool setup. no pond with water turtles??

  • omg! that was awsome! i cant wait till my sulcata is that big! he's too cute! do you breed them or is he the only one?
