He is a bit stiff and the piano sounds a little off, but there is a lot of stress when you perform in front of others. Unless you've been there, I really can't explain it in words.
sigh, furthermore, I think either the mic is placed too close to the piano. After the brief interplude at 7:30, the piano drowns the orchestra until the end. Chopin definitely did not want that, even though he is a composer almost exclusively for the piano...
I don't doubt that he's lacking emotion, but I find his playing a bit too vertical. It's just not Chopin's style to play a nocturne-like piece like that. And also, he add extra notes here and there, unacceptable. Feel free to rate this a poor comment if you don't agree, but please provide a reason for the disagreement with a reply.
the purest playing... here you can see and hear the future poet, lyricist, and if you listen carefully you can hear Sgouros humming and singing along quietly with the melody... he is that absorbed, that much in love with the music, and bursting forth with song from his heart... people say he is lacking emotion... nonsense!
People love to criticize. I want to see them play like this 12-year old boy. I doubt they can. He was excellent for his age and now he's the best.

I agree the orchestra should be heard more...but at least he plays it pretty well.
