Great video, and thanks for not editing out the screwup - it reminds us all that practicing isn't about being perfect every time, it's about busting your butt, making mistakes, and working to fix them.
thx... the mag well helps, but a lot of it is an index thing, keeping my strong hand in the right spot on the grip. I don't really care for the HUGE mag wells, I think they're ugly.
Nice video. Pretty quick, Kudos for not editing out the failure to eject. Shows better character than most on here. Only thing I see that could be done better is not taking your eyes of the target. But then again you got back on it pretty damn fast.
you and travis are both awesome at reloads. i envy your skills. i've watched both your vid and his vids... astonishing. i've been trying it out with my para ord but no where near as quick. but with the help of the vids you guys have posted... really helped! many thanks!
hi...what brand of 1911 would you recommend me that is inflexibly upgradeable? lol i did a subcompact reload, it feels really weird to raise my right pinky finger and has to shove tiny mag all the way in like that...because of the awkwardness, i dont think i am fast enough.
Any of the major manufactures makes a good 1911 - Smith & Wesson, Kimber, Springfield, etc. Put a decent mag well on it - either a Smith and Alexander or the new Tech Wells and you'll be ready to rock those reloads.
You have a speed chute ( i think thats how its spelled ) on the bottom right? Man its so hard with out one. When your on a roll reloading faster and faster, then all of a sudden you miss your mag well, and thats a real heart breaker. Airsoft is a good safe way to train. :)
My thumb doesn't reach the mag release so I use my middle finger, shooting hand (ambidextrous release mag release). It looks like some people push the mag release with the support hand, but maybe I'm just seeing things...
why is it soooo smooth????? the released lol! umm anything customized? i know im speed reloading factory tiny glock27 and you might laugh at me but im being serious enough to get it "fast" as i could.
What kind of magazines are you using in this video? It's kind of hard to see( because your so fast:P) but it looks like they have a large base pad on them. Did they come like that or did you put the base pad or bumper pads or whatever you call them on yourself? What kind of base pad is it if the mags did not come like that?
I can just imagine someone shooting at that guy becoming happy after he sees him reload, and then have his facial expression change once he reloads in like a split second.
you should have like 3 mag and just keep going

How much of a difference does your mag well make?

one more question...what about those low priced 1911, such as high standard and rock island?
xycoordinatex 3 years ago
What can i say, impressive! Next time do it with real shot in a "A" zone. Happy shooting pal.
shooter0830 4 years ago
Thanks, at 10 yards and closer that's about a gimmie at this speed. Past that and there's a little more dwell time on the front sight. ;)

Very nice technique. Very smooth. What kind of magazine holder you using? Open top? Comp rig?

Yes, that's what's called a mag well. Thanks.
catfishbob 4 years ago
Very smooth and consistent. Do you hit the mag release with the support hand, and did you miss the mag release at 0:29?

You know, I don't remember what happened, just didn't feel right. Sometimes it's like that. ;)

Slick mags and a big slick magwell...
DyNo541 4 years ago
LOL. And a little practice. ;)
catfishbob 4 years ago
dude that was slick. i didnt time it but you gotta be just as fast as that travis tomasie from the toher video.
turkeylips17 4 years ago
Now that's funny!! :)
Travis is a good friend of mine and he's just sicko fast. I'd bet his reload is at least 3-4 tenths faster. At least! :)

those are standard 140mm STI tubes, with Dawson +2 basepads. I can fit 18-19 rounds of .40 SW in them.

dropping the gun to much. keep infront of your eyes to watch it all the way in

Well, maybe you should post a vid on how to do it better.
