I moved here from Texas. I got on a bus and went to Fresno when I thought Merle Haggard lived there. And then I come down here to Hollywood and now everything's all fucked up.
I first heard the Texas Funeral in 1984 when someone left a copy in the DJ booth at Manchester Poly. I have been playing a version of Texas Wine on my acoustic at parties ever since. Over the years I turned as many people onto this album as poss. IMO one of the best. Wherever you are Jon Wayne, this little piece of England will never forget you and your music.
For those who despair of the loss of The American Dream...there is JON WAYNE- and God bless naefspiel as well, for sharing this hidden gem with the world; a world made better through repeated exposure to the lyrical wisdom and musical epiphonies inherent throughout Texas Funeral. May Jon Wayne never(No go diggie)die!
One of my favorite bands. Only second to the Butthole Surfers. I never thought anything could top 'TX Funeral' but then along came 'Two Graduated Jiggers.' Wow. Somehow I missed out on this vid back in the day. Thanks a ton for throwing this up. Now if I could only find a copy of D.U.I...

I interviewed Timmy Turlock in 1989. I was a DJ at KMSA and it was one of the weirdest interviews I ever did.
