Amen.

  • Beautiful ! and so are you.

  • what is this piece called?

  • @yukinachang it's " Dan Tranh "

  • So beautiful... Wish this kind of art should always remain in people's heart. Even though when the times changes and everything gets more modern, I don't think I want to just forget about this beautiful kind of music . Because if there is no past, there's no future.

  • OMG i ply that too and i try to catch up to her but i think shes too good 4 me to catch up i hope i will be lik her some day i want to :O

  • hoàn hảo

  • This lady's musical talent is simply extraordinary. Her beauty is only matched by her skill. All my love and respect. I am left speechless by such a glorious person as her. I could watch her play for hours and remain awe-struck...

  • It's is "Dan tranh" from Vietnam

  • this reminds me of when i went back to vietnam for the first time since my dad left the country. so beautiful... i still miss it every day.

  • What is that instrument? It somewhat is close to the Chinese ghuzhen...if anyone has the answer...please tell me...that was awesome...very beautiful...

  • It's called the 'dan tranh'.

  • @alianatwar9696 that instrument is Đàn Tranh in Vietnam

  • Its a derivative of the "ghuzhen" and "gu qin", its called a "dan tranh".

not quite as low pitched as the other 2 of the same family of instruments , but still beautiful nonetheless.

  • Well I agree with animaniac4life01 Vietnam seem to be toooooo far away from other Asia countries such as korea, japan and even Thailand. : x

  • @danlion dude....veitnam is right next to thailand what are you talking about?

  • :( I'm Vietnamese and I've realized most of the Vietnamese folk music (or at least the ones my parents buy) are sorrowful and about the devastating war. I don't like sad Vietnamese music. I wish all the wars and conflicts we had didn't happen so we can catch up to Japan with the technology and economy. We are sooo far behind.

  • More money, more problems

  • If you notice, the melody of Viet folk music usually sounds very sad and sorrowful. This is a contrast to the Chinese music, which seems to have more cheerful melodies. I guess it's b/c the Viet country has been through so many war in its history. Generations after generations, the men went to the frontier, the women stayed behind waiting, waiting, only to find out that their loved ones would never come back. This produced a folk music melody that usually sounds very sad.

  • We got the Chinese to thank for majority of the wars. There almost isn't any century in the 5k years history of both countries when the Chinese didn't try to encroach on the Viet's territory. It's going on RIGHT NOW: Hoàng Sa, Trường Sa, Ải Nam Quan, Thác Bản Dốc. They're killing Vietnamese fishermen fishing in our own water, destroying their boats etc.

  • yes that is sooo true!!!!! and i like it (the very traditional ones like this)..im not into the weird country folk songs.

  • But we're getting there. Even China only became a world power recently! :D

  • @Animaniac4life01

wishing peace & prosperity for Vietnam-from NYC! Hope to visit one day.

  • @Animaniac4life01 you will. the blessed virgin loves your land and this is so beutiful. time will heal the land

  • Nam flashback!

  • i thin you are talking about the guzheng.. indeed, the danthran is very similar to the guzheng..

but the chinese and vietnamese music are very different.. although they sounds similar to whom isn't used to listen eastern music

  • i had never heard this type of music.. nice, relaxing specially while i am at work.

  • oh yeah! cloud 9 instrumentals right there!

beautiful music from a beautiful country!

  • yea well some vietnamese music and music instrument are from china

read vietnamese history u kno why

  • She plays very well with her musical instrument that produces good music to calm our nerves. Very good!

  • I don't know ... to me it's a combination of intense drama with a minor tonality. Not exactly what I would like to hear.

It's weird because I usually like minor-toned western influenced songs. Probably because I can understand that culture a bit better.

    P/s:She isn't beautiful at all.

  • For Musician like her, beauty is in the music she plays, as for an Artist, beauty is in paintings or drawings. I appreciate her good musical talent.

  • Wow, great music!

  • That's Chinese instrument

  • It's related, the vietnamese dan tranh and the chinese guzheng. Theyre both zither-like, varying in size, no. of strings and way of playing

  • Dadacow! Vietnamese & Chinese are culturally and historically related. Chinese, Vietnamese and Koreans are brothers in Asia.

And that comes from a guy/girl at the age of 28, who can't write properly.

You may not like my language, but what does the fact that I can speak norwegian anything with the case to do?

You're one hell of an ignorant person, who says down right stupid things, and thinks he/she is the best. You're pathetic.

    And for the record.

  • Speaking as a Chinese musician, I have to say this music is MUCH more appealing to me than most guzheng.

  • Listening to this puts me in another world. Fantastic

  • Hi kikumy, to learn Dan Tranh is not easy,I don't think they have any in Krung Thep

  • Hello. Does anyone know where to learn Dan Tranh in Bangkok?

  • chị rất đẹp ! tôi dụng đến có một quần áo như vậy .

  • Aaaaahh....reminds me of the 3 years I spent in a Vietnamese re-education camp. We had to do exercise to this kind of music every morning!

  • Verry beautifull music. I wish the artist a long and happy life, and hope she can post more beautiful videos.

  • The sound doesn't go with the video.

  • This is amazing! Very peaceful! Wish I could wake up to this in the morning lol =)

  • Your comment is really inappropriate. This piece is not mean to be "dance[d]" to nor is it lacking in "unique rhythm". If you prefer Khmer traditional music, all the power to you. However, please do not insult other people's cultural heritage. It's called the superiority complex informed by ignorance.

  • excuse me?! How dare you say that about my country's music! If you perfer Khmer music then watch that instead of watching Vietnam's traditional music. I find this music soothing and it helps you relax!

  • I completely agree. If you don't like something, why the hell are you watching it in the first place?

  • this music brings peace to my mind

  • reminds me of the japanesse-zen-music... very harmonic... good for chilling.. :-)

  • I like it, atmospheric and she is very beautiful.

  • beautiful !!!

  • FYI, my family has been working in US military for 3 generations; and as I told you so, do some research before making any comments.

  • Sad, but Soothing

  • What do you guys think of the outfit she is wearing? Would you say that it is traditional?
