  • i wish i could do sign language i think it's cools great vid by the way :)

  • Beautiful absolutely stunning video! , Excellent job!

  • amazing

  • so beautiful :)

  • This is really great, I'm trying to learn ASL on my own and this is a great slow song to help!!

  • this is so awesome, I'm starting to learn ASL, and watching a song i love in sign language is so cool!

  • I love this video!

    That was awesome.

Personally I think that all songs should be signed with SEE instead of ASL just because I love the way words are put together.

I love deconstucting the lyrics and finding my own meaning from it, and I think SEE gives people in the deaf community the opportunity to gain their own meaning from a song. (not that ASL songs arent beautiful as well!)

    Anyway great job!

  • I still come back to this after a year, to show it to my friends. Great Job!

  • thank you so much! that means a lot :)

  • I hope you are alright with this, but I just recommended this video to a sign language teacher acquaintance of mine. I haven't heard back from her yet.

  • Very English-y. :[

Nice though, good flow and facial expression.

  • I've been wanting to do this for a while.

I'm happy that you have though, it made the song very moving=]

  • This song is BEAUTIFUL and the signing with it makes it even more moving

  • This isn't actually ASL, it's English code. ASL doesn't use the word "ing" and you signed it word for word. Try to think of the whole picture to get the meaning, not just the English word for word. Great job, though!

  • hahaha, i realized it was just signed english. ive been meaning to change the description, but i keep foretting i guess

    thanks for the tips!

  • i thought people would be smart enough to make a universal sign language, that wayall the words are the same, translated,..>?

  • yeah that would make sense. too bad its not like that :(

  • There is a large tribe of Bedouin Arabs that still live in the dessert that are mostly deaf. They inveted their own version of sign language which is completely distinct from all other but is supposed to be almost as sophisticated as ASL.

  • @LaurenKateRussell

Yeah you're exactly right, the whole WH- words need to go last as well. It goes like this.

Time, Subject, What the subject is doing, and then the question word (which would mainly be WH-)

you did a great job on keeping up with everything though.

I'm doing my ASL project on this song and I hope I'll be able to sign it perfectly in time like you have here

  • WOW!!! I'm trying to learn ASL myself and this is my favourite song. I was trying to sign along with you and I couldn't keep up with you lol XP That was AWESOME!!!

  • Beautiful. Thanks.

  • That was lovely. I also don't speak ASL but I agree with the comments below. What kind of a name is "Michalchik"?LOL

  • Thanks for this. It is a beautiful song and you did a beautiful job adding a new dimension to it. I feel like I understand it better now even though I don't really know ASL. Would you consider doing an ASL rendition of the song "Center of the Sun" by Poe and Conjure One?

  • I dont know the song but I'll try learning it soon! Thanks for the suggestion.

  • Thanks, I look forward to it.

Here is the song with Lyrics

  • you've got it down girl! you could make an amazing music video of this with the proper software

  • YAY HERMAN!

  • For someone who taught themselves ASL, this is quite good. You and I need to sit down one of these days and you must teach me.
