this is the saddest song played in HIMYM and a very sad scene

however its not the saddest scene as when marshall's father died when he heard the voice mail and when lily and marshall broke up.

ALL very upsetting and reasons why HIMYM is such a good program showing all kinds of emotion and letting us live the program as if were there.

Guys, The saddest moment isn't this, it's when Lily and Marshall are not together... I hate those episodes, because things just ain't right in those... This is a sad moment as well, but the love that made us all believe in love was killed in the last episode of season 1.

@Mychro16 The verse is pretty simple. Play a first and third of a G major in a low register with the bass following the same pattern. the only change you make in the G major chord is a sus 4 (G and and A isntead of G and B) Keep playing the rythm with your right hand as your left hand goes to E D and C. Thats the verse at least :)

@mahdogzbite That's the idea I've always had :P Sadly, I don't think they'll finish it like that, the mother will be some unknown character and that will be quite disappointing to be honest. Great sitcoms have the main characters end up with other supporting characters, for example, Scrubs and Friends, and those endings are really satisfying, I don't think HIMYM will end that way though : (

Hauntingly beautiful, Ted would say... I saw someone else refer to Ted and Robin as "The Impossible Love." They were doomed from the end of the pilot where Ted said, "And that's how I met your aunt Robin."

The greatest part of that scene was Ted's delivery of that line and Robin's subsequent reaction. That line by itself would have seemed cheesy, but you can see and hear the sincerity, regret, and sympathy in Ted's face and voice. And then when Robin starts to cry....
