@08CJ11 "You Know You're Right" which was also Kurt's last composition and song recorded. It's a great song but terribly sad and full of so much emotion. One of my favorites....if you hear it you'll probably dislike Courtney even more (if you do at all)
I didn't know Courtney sold the journals for 4 million. I feel a little bit guilty for having them now. ...I just can't bring myself to respect Courtney at all. I've tried to be open minded about her personality and views but it's fricken hard when she continues to act like a mentally unstable 12 year old. You can say she's been through a lot so her behaviour is understandable, but people have been through WAY more than she has and have come out of it as wonderful, kind hearted people.

when she says they couldn't get to kurts money, you just no it's courtney's persuasion to get more of the percentage. Kurt did like money when he struck it rich but he wasn't a big spender he just liked being stable and always knowing that he had money to do anything he wanted. But for courntney it has to be the best, she's still like it now. However I do believe some of the money was swallowed up due to legal fees and what not.
kurt didn't mind that he was rich, but he missed the days when he had nothing, and it was then that the little finds in the thrift store meant so much more.

I think it's fair to say that Courtney killed Kurt, whether directly or indirectly. Either she had him killed, or she made him so depressed that he had to end it all. I feel so bad for Kurt that he ever got mixed up with her. And I find it very telling that Frances Bean got emancipated from Courtney while she was still a minor. Courtney's downward spiral over the past 15+ years is a direct result of her guilt over what she did to Kurt.
It seems like Courtney Love changed Kurts idea of living, she wanted the high life and she wanted more and more, and maybe that's why Kurt wanted a higher percentage of the total income.

Kurt would have NEVER demanded that Dave and Kris get less than what was agreed upon. It was all Courtney. She wanted the house, she wanted the Lexus, she wanted Kurt to renegotiate more cash, and ultimately is in control of his money NOW. Go figure.

To be honest, I dislike all the books written on Kurt's biography. But there are some decent books about music, for example I find Greg Prato's "Grunge Is Dead" a helluva book. No crap, no made up stories or stupid interpretations, just interviews with those who has had something to do with grunge - musicians, producers, close friends etc.. It isn't only about Nirvana. If you like AIC, Soundgarden, Mudhoney etc., check it out.

People who argue about Kurts death should just let it be. I am a HUGE fan of Kurt, but after awhile I have come to realize that the truth is none of us will ever truly know what REALLY happened. I think 90% is very fair. He was Nirvana, He was the band. He was the Creative force and Artistic Visionary of the band. Grohl at that time didn't offer Any Material, Nor did Noveselic...I think they helped on at least 4 songs in the ENTIRE catalogue of Nirvana music.

I honestly hope this bitch goes to hell. Ok so he sang about suicide and was a drug addict but the public media use that as 'evidence'. I still can't believe to this day how badly the case was handled, it's not like the suicide of Ian Curtis where he had a homely and caring wife who loved him for who he was and didn't care about money or wealth, Courtney has very erratic and dangerous behavior both in media and in public, I'm sure if the tables were turned it would be a different story.

I didn't know Courtney sold the journals for 4 million. I feel a little bit guilty for having them now. ...I just can't bring myself to respect Courtney at all. I've tried to be open minded about her personality and views but it's fricken hard when she continues to act like a mentally unstable 12 year old. You can say she's been through a lot so her behaviour is understandable, but people have been through WAY more than she has and have come out of it as wonderful, kind hearted people.

I think it's fair to say that Courtney killed Kurt, whether directly or indirectly. Either she had him killed, or she made him so depressed that he had to end it all. I feel so bad for Kurt that he ever got mixed up with her. And I find it very telling that Frances Bean got emancipated from Courtney while she was still a minor. Courtney's downward spiral over the past 15+ years is a direct result of her guilt over what she did to Kurt.

To be honest, I dislike all the books written on Kurt's biography. But there are some decent books about music, for example I find Greg Prato's "Grunge Is Dead" a helluva book. No crap, no made up stories or stupid interpretations, just interviews with those who has had something to do with grunge - musicians, producers, close friends etc.. It isn't only about Nirvana. If you like AIC, Soundgarden, Mudhoney etc., check it out.

CL was the one who knew him the most because she lived w/him and dealt with his moody ways(his interviews show he was just as irratic) In fact he wanted to name In Utero( the name of CL's poem) I H8 MYSELF AND WANT TO DIE(KN persuaded him to change it)..well that doesnt sound suicidal...

@htownlithium: Dave doesn't openly bash CL because he has a life and a career that consume him, but we all know what he thinks of her. As to what Courtney has to say about Kurt, you should listen to the yt video "Courtney Love/Tom Grant (The death of Kurt Cobain)" taped conversations in which Courtney talks about devising stories to mislead the public.

If you listen to the song you can tell he is poking fun of people who whine about little things, runny noses, runny eggs, etc. He never meant it to be an indication of his mental state! The record co & KN's convo abt it, yes thats the statement released. So he took CL's "In Utero". He wasnt always a happy guy & its obvious in his interviews/songs. Stayley said when he saw Kurt in '94 all he did was talk about Frances. He would not have left her! The letter you speak of must have been from a long time ago, things have changed. Courtney is the only one with motive to kill Kurt.

Why isn't she demanding the case be reopened to resolve the valid questions people have about Kurt's death???
