Rastafari IS Christian beliefs. King Selassie worshiped Jesus Christ. Rastafari is a movement..not a religion. Many people have become confused on this issue. If anyone is interested I have a couple different things showing King Selassie saying that no one should ever confuse a deity with a human being. Many people started to think that King Selassie was reincarnation of Jesus Christ and this is just not true. (Jah is God not Selassie) Jah Bless...

What does it mean to be 'Rasta?" I looked it up on Wikipedia but it didn't answer my question. How does it fit into broader Christianity? What are the similarities and differences between it and orthodox Christianity? How are these differences reconciled? If anyone could answer my questions I would be very thankful. I love learning about religion. If someone recommend a good source book, that would also be very helpful. : )

@mayawarriorprincess Well basically, it has the same major beliefs as christianity.. but it's just not as strict, like getting married isn't important to them like it is in other branches of christrianity and stuff like that, but really it just depends on the person's own thoughts. that's why they don't like calling rastafari a religion.. they consider it a way of life because there are no certain rules. but you must have absolute faith in Jah (God), have unconditional love for everything, and..
