  • @RELIANT1111

Also if you have a backup service running like Carbonite if you disable it that will also take care of the problem while you play video's or audio.

  • I was having the same problem I ran task manager for a while (sorted by CPU % run time) and noticed that the buzzing occurred coincident with a program called iaantmon.exe getting a run burst. I disabled the service called "Intel(R) Matrix Storage Event Monitor" and have not had any more problems. This service has something to do with RAID, which I don't use.

  • run iTunes where it's made for. yes get that one.

  • I have a useful fix for windows 7. open resource monitor (type it in start menu search bar) and then you can find whats causing the lag/buzz by seeing the spike in CPU usage. Then see if it is fixable. A common cause is iaantmon.exe which is for RAID setups and can be disabled with MSCONFIG. Hope this Helped! :D

  • @DarkMatter39 Seems to have worked. Thanks a lot.

  • I'm having the exact same problem. gay.

  • you should have left daft punk - veridis quo on... would have been a good demonstration of the problem:)

  • I tried turning off the Net Guard in the firewall settings for McAfee, and I haven't had this sound issue yet...(it's only been like 10-20 minutes)... I'm hoping that this'll be pretty promising. Seems like it so far!!!

So all I have to say... is FUCK McAfee, I'm not resubscribing once my service ends with them!! :D

  • similar issue, just updated my drivers though and waiting on results, but i dont have mcafee so it must be something else

  • if anyone is using McAfee...open its firewall settings and turn off Net Guard .....that should stop the buzzing noise....

  • Same problem here too... anything to do with McAfee?

  • I have the exact same issur, except i dont even have a wireless adapter. used windows resource manager though and found out it was caused by McSvHost.exe. dunno what to do now. soooo anoying

  • @chewbacca06 Now that really sounds like McAfee being stupid...

  • Hi, I've just solved this problem on my pc. It seems to be associated with redundant wireless adapter drivers. Updating the wireless adapter to the latest build has fixed this problem entirely. I used drivermax, some useful freeware, to sort it out.

  • @dirtymotheho im having this problem could you guide me through the driver update process for the wireless adapter? Much appreciated if you could help! :)

  • @JoshB2561 Read this, it will help but it will drastically reduce your internet speed.

  • @dirtymotheho

I used drivermax also and it seems to have taken care of the problem so far, I have tried to make it happen and can not.

  • My Asus G73JH laptop is doing the same exact thing! Unfortunately it happens far less frequently so I can't reproduce it, (just my luck) but I've found it happens across a wide variety of sources, from games like Left 4 Dead 2 to streaming live video feeds in Firefox. Have you found a solution to this yet? I'm glad that I'm at least not the only person experiencing this annoying issue.

  • Yep... My computer is an HP PAVILION MD4 windows 7-64 bit and I get this fuc** noise sometimes, principaly at the boot after the HP Simplepass (firgerprint). I searched and tried many things but it doesn`t seem to work... Still, when I am Using Itunes or any other program that requires a lot of the CPU in a short time cause this spikes (mainly the spikes appear when the CPU load is near idle and less than 1,5 seconds it reachs 100% load and after goes to 5% to 15% load....)

  • I have it too - sounds like rude flatulence. I've looked everywhere and tried many things - no luck. I expect my computer to start saying "pull my finger".

  • Ye Audioslave. Lol that noise is wierd

  • i ve got the same problem and its fuckin pissing me off !!! i installed Win 7 three times now 32bit : 64 :86bit and i get same problem all the time. with Win XP SP3 i dont have any buzzing noise ... does any1 know how to fuckin fix this shit??

  • same problem here, mine started with the windows 7 sp1 install. Has anyone had any luck fixing the problem

  • same problem here! please help it's so annoying

  • This may sound weird But open your computer CASE and Clean it up.

Make sure you blow out most off the dust around your CPU , GPU and PSU.

    Hope it helps.

  • try updating your wireless drivers, if possible. i did and so far no buzzings :)

  • I have the same problemand mines HORRIBLE. Did you ever figure it out?

  • You ever get a solution to this problem?

    Mines the same way.

  • Well the hard drive and reinstall of win 7 and drivers did not fix the buzz. I also get lag with the buzz.

  • I get a Buzzing in my headphones along with a lag spike which just started happening while playing Day of Defeat Source. I have a new hard drive coming and according to Alienware Tech that will fix my latest problem with this M17X produced by DHELL. My buzzing sound sounds identical to what you have.

  • ive been getting the same thing
