The number is actually 47 million and 10-15 million of those are illegal aliens which means that about 35 million Americans don't have health insurance. Out of that 35 million, could get it but they just don't want it and many more could get it if they would just give up certain luxuries like cell phones and HBO (cable tv).
So the real number of Americans who want health insurance but just can't afford is possibly somewhere around 10 million (3% of the population).

First off, one case already has a trial date set (Jan 2010) as a last resort, but if the motion to dismiss is denied at the Oct. hearing & discovery proceeds, it might not even need to make it to trial. Also the President has no authority over state health depts. even Bush who reformed birth cert laws after 9/11 recommended states, like HI does, release minimal certs, he couldn't force it by law so some states still offer long forms. The number is actually 47 million and 10-15 million of those are illegal aliens which means that about 35 million Americans don't have health insurance. Out of that 35 million, could get it but they just don't want it and many more could get it if they would just give up certain luxuries like cell phones and HBO (cable tv).
So the real number of Americans who want health insurance but just can't afford is possibly somewhere around 10 million (3% of the population).

First off, one case already has a trial date set (Jan 2010) as a last resort, but if the motion to dismiss is denied at the Oct. hearing & discovery proceeds, it might not even need to make it to trial. Second, my understanding is that Congress could pressure the US Attorney or Holder to request Quo Warranto (a determination of eligibility) & then exercise it's Constitutional power to dismiss him -- this is not impeachment, but dismission, much faster.
