That last category in the second winner's circle was a tough one. I can see why Dick didn't try to give the perfect clue. 99 times out of 100 he gave it whenever someone didn't win.
A few other times they gave a trip like that to a losing contestant who played two 21-21 games and never made the Winner's Circle. One time on $100K a losing contestant was given a VCR. They gave an older lady contestant in 1986 a trip when she didn't win any money. One time in the Mystery 7 on $100K, the prize was an Alaskan cruise, and when it was found the contestant had been to Alaska a few times, they have the player a Hong Kong trip instead.
This aired on USA in late 1989 I think. Pyramid had rotating announcers for most of its 1982-88 years. Jack Clark and Johnny Gilbert did a lot of episodes, but Bob Hilton, Charlie O, Dean Goss, Rod Roddy, Charlie Tuna, and Jerry Bishop(announcer of 70s Cross-Wits and Judge Judy) filled in over those years. Gilbert, Goss, and Henry Polic II were the announcers of Pyramid in 1991.
I love that you are posting episodes of the Pyramid again. I hate to say it but the date of this episode was not in March, it was in December. It's part of the rotation that GSN is using.
Do you have any episodes from the 1984-1985 season? There is not that many on YouTube - interestingly enough there are more from the 1982-1983 season.
@NYBredBamaFed As far as that year goes, the only other one I have besides the Nathan Cook/Vicki Lawrence one that's here is the one with Dorothy Lyman and Terry Lester, which I see has been added by someone else. I wish more of the rarely played eras were readily available though too.
@excuseyou77 Hey, you also have the August 1984 episode with Elaine Joyce & Nathan Cook, which had Rod Roddy announcing as well, and Jennings has uploaded the November 2, 1984 episode uploaded. You can kinda tell by the looks of the mics in the WC that this is from the December 2-6, 1985 week. The March 1985 week of shows with the same celebrity guests had Jack Clark announcing that week too.

The perfect clue that I can think for "Sophisticated Things" was probably Duke Ellington's Ladies.

That was nice to give the extra parting gift. I don't recall seeing that before. Thanks for posting.
