@wonphi psv actually has about the same amount of battery life as the 3ds...i already have a 3ds and am hoping for a redesign and i'll be getting the vita after the first price drop and some better games ( no many in the 1st quarter that catch my eye yet..Dust for vita definitely has my eye. but i think the 3ds is a bit more portable than the vita does and i have little to no interest in the vita's networking.. it's all about the games for me. both are great and a must have for portables

I prefer the iPod touch over psp controls as far as FPSs go, but fighting games work a lot better on my PSP. I have a hard time executing certain combos on a fighting game I have on my android phone. With PSP, no problems since I have physical controls, but I keep getting drawn back to that game on my android phone, seeing as I'll never be able to have it on the 3ds, ngp, psp, dsi, or iPod touch. I do have a fighting game on the touch, and it works better since the controls are made for it.

Please tell me you are joking. There is no excuse for making such a stupid comment - the NPG is WAY more powerful than the 3DS , as it has a quad core processor.
Lighting has little to do with this , the NGP wipes the floor with the DS in the graphics department.

I have seen pretty much all 3ds videos there are , and I am very confused at how you can compare that cheap game with a 360 title. Just look at the hands model and the lack of proper antialising. The iphone has way better graphics - and that's a flipping smartphone. Also , I don't see the point of playing first person shooters on the 3ds - the controls suck ass.

Hell no, duel analog is the most inaccurate way to play fps using the touch screen to aim is comparable to mouse and keyboard which is way more precise the shitty analogs. As for the touchscreen - I can see that working on the iphone , where you can use your finger to aim. But not on a ds - holding a stylus with your right hand and balance the 3ds with your other hand? That's incredebly awkward - dual analogs are very easy to use as you actually grip both sides of the device and your fingers fall easily on the shoulder buttons.
Big ds fps fan. I have no problem whatsoever with psp i wish i had both. Its also ba you can get fps on the iphone, but i would have a hard time believing the games could compete with either the ds or psp.

@chinche1x It's a phone that's capable of playing games. It's marketed as such. You use it as a phone, yet it's capable of playing games. "A smartphone capable of playing PSP and Android games?". That kinda answers the question, it's a smartphone that's capable of playing actual games. It's not marketed as a game system capable of making calls. That's why it's part of the Xperia line rather than the PlayStation family.
Also, it's currently unknown whether or not it will run PSP games.
Out of last generation (seeing as the 3DS is a new series of handhelds), I'd say the DS won, game-wise. It had the best games, the list goes on and on and on. The PSP was great, but it only recently began to pick up steam, and there's not much variety in genres.
As for the iPod Touch, it's not a gaming device. It's a multimedia device that's capable of playing games.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 has done a wonderful job of removing those nasty virtual controls almost all together. You aim and shoot with swipes and taps, while the left quarter of the screen is an open field for using your thumb to move you around. The only HUD type controls are very unobtrusive: an aiming sight button on the bottom left corner (which might be a tiny bit too small for some thumbs) and the gun at the top right (which you can swipe to change weapons or tap to toss a grenade).
1. iphone/touch - often easy controls, a variety of fps games, great graphics and online
2. nds - variety of fps games [including most cod games], really easy controls, online but horrible graphics
3. psp - controls r good however they take getting used 2 for begginers, good graphics but for cod fans their is only a basic version of cod 3 which has no online
PSP for game playability. Easiest for FPS, although the itouch/phone are good alternatives. I say it's a tie PSP/itouch, with the DS in third. All of these devices are great, but each one is better for specific types of games. DS would be great for games like mario, which don't require the touch pad at the bottom.
@turgodi Not really, it's like comparing a midrange desktop PC to an overpowered laptop. I think physical button a much easier to use that a rubbing fingers all over the screen.

I believe this video was created to show the differences in controls. The psp is missing a "look" button so it is clearly not for FPS's. So the FPS battle should be between the DS and the iDevice.
ive already played on PSP it alright a basic console type, i never ever fancy DS by the look of it playing FPS on it makes me stab the screen... so far iPhone is way more easiest to controll.. iPhone the best for mobility and controlls, perfect all around media player.
DS has best fps interface, yet has an alarmingly small amount of good fps games. The best ones are Moon and multiplayer of metroid prime hunters. Iphone has N.O.V.A.(excellent single and multiplayer). And who plays fps games on the psp???
People trust me, do not get any CoD game for the DS. It stinks. One time I got a little bit over excited and thought CoD in the DS would be as much fun as it is in a PS3 or Xbox 360, so I bought CoD World at War, CoD 4, and MW2. And now I want those $80 back. Of course unless you're rich and want to waste your money in a squared load of boringness, crappy graphics and complicated controls go ahead and buy it. I'm not blaming Treyarch or Infintity Ward. N Space made these horrible games.
PSP is more powerful than the iPhone 4, so it has nicer looking games. It has a bad processor though and little RAM, so it can't multitask or run a full OS in the background. DS so far out of the competition in terms of power I'm not even going bother comparing. I think PSP is best for gaming though.
@ATLMember I wouldn't say the DS is that far behind in power. I mean it does everything a gaming console needs to do and it may have worse graphics than the psp, but I still say the DS wins. Once the 3DS comes out there will be no question that the 3DS is the best system out of all the handhelds.

For gaming I would go with the psp. For fun medium size games I would go with the ds. For mini games I would go with the iPod. They all have their own purpose, the iPohone isn't competing with the PSP

Other than that though, the DS is full of crap titles and it doesn't have enough power to play standard console like 3D games. PSP has great games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories and awesome FPS games. iPod has unreal now, so the games on it are about to become way way better. Honestly, like it or not, the future is probably going to be iPod Touch.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough. The quad core processor includes a SGX543MP4+ gpu which is very powerful. The 3ds is at most psp level.
Have you seen the uncharted and other demos? How could you possibly even suggest that they are anywhere in the same league?
Hell , my ipod touch has better or similar graphics with the 3ds.

1. iphone/touch - often easy controls, a variety of fps games, great graphics and online
2. nds - variety of fps games [including most cod games], really easy controls, online but horrible graphics
3. psp - controls r good however they take getting used 2 for begginers, good graphics but for cod fans their is only a basic version of cod 3 which has no online

PSP for game playability. Easiest for FPS, although the itouch/phone are good alternatives. I say it's a tie PSP/itouch, with the DS in third. All of these devices are great, but each one is better for specific types of games. DS would be great for games like mario, which don't require the touch pad at the bottom.

2. DS, controls are decent, graphics aren't great
3. I-phone, controls look hard to use and make you block part of the screen with your fingers, graphics aren't any better than PSP.

@turgodi Not really, it's like comparing a midrange desktop PC to an overpowered laptop. I think physical button a much easier to use that a rubbing fingers all over the screen.

in-terms of visuals psp dominates hands down (it is a console after all) followed by the iphone then the DS.........DS on d other hand has superior controls due to the touchscreen..........

I have a PSP with a dozen games and the whole PSP experience, whether games or the interface, is second-rate the touch screen is superior on the ipod and i've had more fun on a ipod than ive had on a psp and i can put it in my pocket.

By the way, battlefield bad company 2 is coming to the iphone. Take that psp and your not able to look because you failed to include a second knob!

@GtaRonnie My first response would b .. r u kidding me?! get the PS3. The games r great, hi-def, free multiplayer etc etc. PS3 has a couple or more years left of life in it. PSP is dying as we speak. PSP2 is coming out next year so its not worth getting a PSP so late in the game (unless u get a used and very cheap one). Still I just cant stand the single analog stick on the PSP. My PSP is collecting dust, but I use my PS3 everyday!

@knightinmiami Yeah you're right...but I like the PSP because I can play anywhere and with the PS3 I can play only at home....I was thinking like this If I buy a PS3 I will have more fun and the time will pass quickly until I raise the money for PSP with Hd graphics,best games,etc. But with the PSP I could play anywhere anytime...Thanks for response :)

you should make a new video showing sandstorm 2 black pegasus. woohoo for 10 players online:D. also, battlefield bad company 2 is coming out on the iDevice. I believe this video was created to show the differences in controls. The psp is missing a "look" button so it is clearly not for FPS's. So the FPS battle should be between the DS and the iDevice.

ive already played on PSP it alright a basic console type, i never ever fancy DS by the look of it playing FPS on it makes me stab the screen... so far iPhone is way more easiest to controll.. iPhone the best for mobility and controlls, perfect all around media player.

DS has best fps interface, yet has an alarmingly small amount of good fps games. The best ones are Moon and multiplayer of metroid prime hunters. Iphone has N.O.V.A.(excellent single and multiplayer). And who plays fps games on the psp???

People trust me, do not get any CoD game for the DS. It stinks. One time I got a little bit over excited and thought CoD in the DS would be as much fun as it is in a PS3 or Xbox 360, so I bought CoD World at War, CoD 4, and MW2. And now I want those $80 back. Of course unless you're rich and want to waste your money in a squared load of boringness, crappy graphics and complicated controls go ahead and buy it. I'm not blaming Treyarch or Infintity Ward. N Space made these horrible games.

PSP is more powerful than the iPhone 4, so it has nicer looking games. It has a bad processor though and little RAM, so it can't multitask or run a full OS in the background. DS so far out of the competition in terms of power I'm not even going bother comparing. I think PSP is best for gaming though.

@ATLMember I wouldn't say the DS is that far behind in power. I mean it does everything a gaming console needs to do and it may have worse graphics than the psp, but I still say the DS wins. Once the 3DS comes out there will be no question that the 3DS is the best system out of all the handhelds.

For gaming I would go with the psp. For fun medium size games I would go with the ds. For mini games I would go with the iPod. They all have their own purpose, the iPohone isn't competing with the PSP

@miguelhidalgo94 iTouch loses by miles in gaming. Maybe not by graphics, but by quality of gameplay and length. It's not even considered a gaming system. The only thing the DS lacks in is graphics as far as gaming is concerned overall.

@raney150 I love my DS for a few games, mainly, the Phoenix Wright Series, Professor Layton, and I like some Mario titles too. Other than that though, the DS is full of crap titles and it doesn't have enough power to play standard console like 3D games. PSP has great games like Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories and awesome FPS games. iPod has unreal now, so the games on it are about to become way way better. Honestly, like it or not, the future is probably going to be iPod Touch.

@ATLMember No it's not. The iPod touch is a great piece of technology and I do like my iPod Touch. But gaming is far far far far faaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr superior on it. That's ok though, it doesn't need to be a gaming console. It does enough already :)

@raney150 wow, you must have niot looked in the appstore since 2008....lemme tell you some of the hundreds of games that are not like mini games, gta chinatown wars, gansgtar 2 miami vindication, iron man 2, prince of persia warrior within( it is a port from the ps2 version), spiderman total mayhem, hero of sparta 2, need for speed shift and undercover, modern combat sandstorm and the upcoming modern combat 2, nova, madden 11, shall I continue? I could tkae hours listing quality ipod touch games

@Airking11 Actually the first time I even had access to the appstore is this year. ALL are minigames. They are not quality games, well for a phone they are, but that's not the point. Buying a game in the appstore is like buying a demo for the real thing. the best games on it are simple and addictive, but not as good as an actual console game.
