  • This video was so damn GOOD that i had to go and make a youtube account just to like this and comment on it. This video is amazing! i love the way it's made using those animations! it was very helpful for me and it made me understand DNA replication completly! I will make sure to tell other people bout this video! It's the best i have found about DNA replication on YouTube. Great work you deserve an award for this!! btw. love the sound track from The Office :). LoveLove xxx

  • LOVE THE OFFICE SOUNDTRACK AND VIDEO. MAKE MORE :]

  • the best replication video at net <3

  • what's the songs name?

  • CUTEST VIDEO EVER

  • The song ruins your video! It is not pleasant to hear. :|

  • An observation: DNA polymerase exonucleasing repairing activity is done during the polimerization, not after. It goes backward when the errors in the DNA polymerization, changing the structure of the helix, changes the allosteric structure of the enzyme. Good work, anyway, sorry for my bad english, i hope you will understand what i want to say! :)

  • Amazing and interesting one

    thanks alot ^_^

  • awsome video!

  • Awesome soundtrack!!!!!!! Can U tell me the name of this track plzzzzzzzz

  • i wish all professors can make things easier & interesting to understand it like this video..!!!!! I was totally lost in lecture until i found this... kudos for making such a helpful clip!:)

  • Wow, when my biology book is talking about the enzyme breaking the hydrogen bonds, it doesn't say that it's helicase. My book just says it's an enzyme.

The book did not even mention the lazers :)

    hehe

  • dis is explained in a vry nice way.. i nvr undrstood replication untl i watchd dis.. thanxx

  • this is the most fun video of DNA replication ever!! :D so awesome

  • so cuteeeee this is sooo gonna help me in my finals next month! Thank you! :D

  • Amazing :) BEST video on dna replication, hands down

  • twas.really very very awesome........good effort

  • OMG i think this just might help me ace my test. you are awesome!!!

  • i like the soundtrack hahahaha :D exams n 40 minutes !!! it really helps me thanks !!

  • I had kinda understood this before, but seeing this in plain, normal person speak really helped. This was a fantastic video. Good job!!!

  • OH MY WORD!!! You are amazing!!! I was struggling with this topic a bit, finding it hard to remember but now I totally get it! Thank you SO much! In term of constructive criticism: maybe I'm a slow reader but I had to pause a few times so maybe next time slow it down a bit but still 10/10! Gonna get my classmates to use it too :) Thanks!

  • ahhh this is so good. I FINALLY FOUND ONE THAT WAS GOOD!

  • Best video iv'e seen on DNA replication :).

  • such a great video!! the office is my favorite show so i got super excited about the music and i have a biology exam on monday that this just helped me out with so much :) great job!

  • LMAO at DNA ligase, lol

  • awesome! best vid I have seen so far!!thanks a lot!

  • you just saved my ass..... thanks!!!

  • Hot damn you saved my ass for the Bio exam tomorrow. THANK YOU

  • FUCKING THANK YOU SO MUCH. AHHHHMAZING!

  • WOW this is amazing best video of DNA replication !

  • HAPPY MUSIC!

  • I have a final test of Biochemistry and I was having difficulties with this one

THANKS !!! IT hepled me a looooooot !!!

  • thanks so much..genetics exam is coming. Hope it can help! :-)

  • Thank you so much formulating this. I was just reviewing for the AP Bio exam and The 5' to 3' end DNA polymerase has really gotten into my freakin' nerves. Thanks to you it's been clarified :)

  • AWESOME SHIT!

  • ... WTFF!!!

  • your gay

  • Was working on a DNA project in class today and watched this vid.....everyone in the class thought we were watching The Office.

  • Hello, I'm wondering what the sign says at 4:32 where the DNA polymerase is reading a reverse mirror sign? :D

    BTW great video, it's excellent.

But I don't understand the part at 3:04-3:17 about the strands reversing directions in the bubble??

  • @xDreamCapsule "If you know what sesquipedalian means, please call Mr. Owl. -insert owl symbol-"

I kinda worded that awkwardly actually...it means that each strand, within a bubble, which is really two sides of a replication fork, is both the leading and lagging strand; it just depends on which side you're looking at.

I hope that clears it up a bit better~

  • @xDreamCapsule " If you know what sesquipedalian means, please contact Mr Owl. -insert owl symbol here-"

I worded that really awkwardly...what I was trying to say was that within a replication bubble, which is just two replication forks stuck together as in the video, a strand acts as both the leading and the lagging strand; it just depends on what side you're looking at.

Hope this clears some of the confusion up~

  • TY very much,, nice video,, intresting,,

  • nice shit :))

    very intelligent ,and sweet ...

    keep going bro..

  • Thank you!

My bio teacher told us to find an animation for DNA Replication to better understand it, and this one is the best :D

    <3 no homo

  • it would be perfect if u could slow down the speed of the video...cuz is obviously going way too fast...and i have to pause a lot of times...but other than that the vid is great! ;D thanks!

  • FANTASTIC

    wooow

    wooow

    wooow

thanks really hard and welldone work

  • I like the music...

  • SUBSCRIBED!

  • This is one of the best DNA replication videos on Youtube..Thanks for making this video easy to learn from..and it was hilarious! I loved the phosphate group hanging upside down with their little ties dangling..LOL. Great work!! May you get rewarded well for this

  • Thanks for your hard work, that helped some stuff to eventually sink in

  • WOW good shit you saved my ass

  • @hihihi232323 that's what she said!

  • WHO CARES ABOUT THE STUPID MUSIC?!?! THIS THING JUST SAVED MY BUTT!!! TO THE MAKER OF THIS VIDEO! I LOVE YOU! THAAAANNKKKK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • lmaoo i loved this!!

didnt have lasers buttttt. oh well. :) :)

    really fun and educational

  • THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO! It helped me a lot! Well done from the Netherlands :D

  • This is a great video. Looks like you put in a lot of time. Just note that the bonds between C and T are 3 H-bonds, and A and G are 2 H-bonds because you show just single bonds between all of them.

  • @drewvaldivia Back then I didn't know about double bonds and hydrogen bonds and whatever bonds, so I just drew them all as a line.

  • @drewvaldivia

Drewvaldivia, you probably know this and just wrote it down a little fast - but A and T go together with 2 bonds, and C and G with 3. AT and CG. :)

    Great video

  • dude that must have taken forever to make. but it was helpful, thanks! : )

  • thank you so much!!!!! this helped me understand dna replication.

  • wats the song called?

  • Very helpful!!!!! I like the music behind it. When I heard the music from "The Office," it made me laugh.

  • THANK YOU!! this video is thorough, and the animations are helpful!!

  • it needs better music behind it. If anyone wants good original music for a video let me know.

  • @MusicWavesMan

Sorry about that bit. I'm kinda lazy.

When the time arises, I might contact you, but I don't plan on making any new videos soon, so...

  • @MusicWavesMan the music makes it even better :)

  • We watched this in Biology today.

    OH GOD, made my life.

  • Rocking video i liked it

could you check out my videos?

if you like them u should subscribe, lol

    have a nice day.

  • This is great! Nicely done. But- the DNA polymerase is moving in the wrong direction when both adding new nucleotides (the new strand is built in the 5' to 3' direction) and in its exonuclease (or proofreading) function where it goes back in the 3' to 5' direction on the new strand to fix its mistake.

  • you're done with it already?

    the best part...must be pikachu

  • this is SO useful!!!!! :))))))) thank you very much!!! you made my life easier!!! :DDDD

but in which part exactly the DNA polymerase is moving in the wrong direction? at the end while correcting mistakes?

  • @LovePianoTheMost

Maybe...I dunno. But it is moving in the wrong direction while constructing the new DNA strand.

  • FIRST COMMENT HELL YEAH!!

awesome!!!! My roommate thinks it's awesome too!!!! We all think it's awesome! You're awesome :D
