The companies that pollute are not going to hurt their profits by paying for carbon credits. They will make you pay! This is like the National park tax and FCC tax that was passed to balance the budget in the 90's. This would be a huge boondoggle if allowed to pass. These bastards have already figured out that they can sell these credits amongst themselves so they can pollute more and the companies that have already invested in cleaner tech can profit from their allocated credits.
The money trail doesn't end up in energy companies, that's the start not the end of the trail. The bigger chunk of money ends in banks (Federal Reserve) and the smaller one (trillions of $) in Government programs. It's not about companies, to where the money always flows unless you want to live in a Soviet camp, it's about Government expansion.
