It is so sad that those that should lead, only lead to war, not love. They create hatred among the masses. I've never believed that a person should be judged by religion or beliefs, nor their heritage. I don't believe that we were attacked by radical anyone; and I've seen too much evidence that says...'they didn't do it.' Government feels if they keep fear in the hearts of the people, they have control...and that's what the war on terror is all about; their control, not ours. :(

I like most would love world peace. Realistically, it's impossible because we truly are different and we are not perfect. We are beautifully imperfect.

Some would say that government then, would be the mechanism by which this utopia can be wrought. That my friends, is the very definition of tyranny. Any remnant of world peace made possible through a single governmental body, would find itself in the vast shadow of fear, misery, and ignorance.

One size does not fit all. Wake up people!

Absolutely NOTHING is impossible, JMehrman. Nothing. And 'One Size' IS all. YOU are a facet of this One, as is everything. Just wait. Keep asking the question and give yourself some time to see. I bet you'll see things in very much a different way. But NO ONE can convince you of this, if you do not see it for yourself. So, keep looking. You will find. :-)

@JMehrman The whole concept of utopia is more like a nightmare version of peace. If you must know some 100 years ago millions of people joined tigether, abolished money and established a new form of community never before seen in our civilisation. Unfortunately they had a poor choice of leadership. He got it in his head that humans actually don't require food. In the end 2+ million were in for a one on one with God, while grain rotted in the military's barns.

It may surprise you that I agree with you - Peace is Truly in christ alone. Now, all you have to do is begin to realize what/who christ is. Coming from a deeply religious christian background myself, I completely understand how difficult it is, how blasphmous it feels to look further. So as I did, I reminded myself that if God WAS God, he could certainly stand a closer look from little ol' me. :-)  Right?

I myself prefer the more female vision of God. So in a puppet show view of your rhetorical question - humans bicker and chaff like cartoon figures at God. @ONErighteousNESS Cont. Why do people keep calling Jesus the son of god. He obviously is, but then whose son is the notorous german painter we all hear about? Maybe he is the son of god's poolboy or god's gardener. :D Anyway, you might have heard of the show in which Madonna (the singer) is "crucified". Well I read abot the pope being outraged at this mockery of the savior and demanding repremand and so on. And all I could think is - Yea, like the chirch is any good at recognising saviours.

The fact that these kinds of ideas inspire uncompromising respect of one another is the reason why I hold buddhism as the most respectful religion, even though I'm not religious.

I just feel that it is a little incomplete and vague and I think there's a danger in the "we are one" idea because it can so easily be misinterpreted and twisted to mean that the individual doesn't matter and must serve others. It doesn't seem like coerced subservience to each other is what you're about though. I hope.

I agree libervisco - though I don't advocate ANY form of religion either, I always say "If you MUST choose a religion right off the shelf, choose Buddhism!" because IMHO, it has the highest amount of Truth in it. But we are better off realizing that ALL religion is only man's inept attempt to understand the Divine. :-)

And yes, you're right again - 'coerced subservience' is not at ALL what I am about.
