  • Nice looking car! I'm thinking about selling my gas-guzzler truck and getting one of these nice little hatchbacks. Don't listen to all the low IQ bubba-redneck types out there that think that driving a small car somehow makes you a "sissy" or a nerd. With the economy the way it is, cars like this Rio are a smart choice....and KIAs have supposedly gotten much better than they used to be.

  • Great car. I'm gonna get one when I can find the color I want. Don't know why they switched cars from push start to a key start. This is not a real customer. The dude is way to excited to be real,. And for anyone wondering about the room inside, I'm 6'4" 220 and fit great in it. Of course like any other car out there whoever sits behind me is screwed. LOL.

  • Weird, when the guy sits in the in the beginning the car has a power/off button to start the car but after he has called the girl it's changed to a ordinary key starter.

  • @odonatapower notice how the whole stereo systems different too?

  • my favorite cheap car just got alot better!

  • ...then @3:25 the unit swithes from nav to uvo. Were we not suppose to notice? These promotional videos need serious work. Less cheese, more continuity and straight facts...please.

  • @ericj305 it's a commercial after all. They're intention is to catch your attention and well frankly they're not the first or the last company to take liberties on the details to sell a product.

Anyway, good job Kia on a very engaging ad.

  • @supercooled "They're intention is to catch your attention"

    - I sought this video out...in hopes that it would provide me with more details on a product that has ALREADY caught my attention DUE to what I've read and seen regarding its design and "performance" promises, and NOT from distasteful, incredibly cheesy ads such as this one. "Frankly", ads such as this one make me question whether or not this car is actually an appropriate fit for me. Was that also their "intention"?

  • @supercooled "it's a commercial after all."- And? Does that mean they can/should misrepresent their product?...because it's a commercial after all? That's just silly.

Anyway, terrible job Kia on this cringe-inducing cheesefest of a "commercial".

  • @ericj305 it could be down to a little discrepancy in options offered in different regions. Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill. As far as the ad goes, it's keeping with the times. I guess you rather they hire some Herb Tarlick character to sell the car.

  • @supercooled "I guess you rather they hire some Herb Tarlick character to sell the car"- Empty and facetious speculation. Don't guess...because you'd guess wrong. "it could be down to a little discrepancy in options offered in different regions." No, the camera, and the guy, alluded to the Nav when mentioning UVO. They aren't concurrent options in ANY region.

  • @supercooled "it's keeping with the times"- A loosely scripted walkaround by a pretend customer gleefully offering misinformation against a clumsily edited center console switcheroo qualifies as "keeping with the times"? Try again. On second thought, don't.

"Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill."- Too late.

  • @ericj305 If you're going to be this critical about a commercial, then may be Kia isn't targeting people like you. Its first and foremost goal is to capture the attention of people who have little to no knowledge of this little car. The only cars that have made any splash hitherto has been the Ford Fiesta with their relentless assault of Fiesta Movement ads. Consider this as the preamble of better ads to come.

  • @supercooled See you on the road, soldier...in my new 2012 Kia rio.

  • This car is equipped with the nav package, which I've read replaces the uvo unit. Yet @3:13 this guy claims/implies both. What gives?
