my only question is does the back window have to be taken out or can in stay up when putting the midgate down?? that would suck in winter

You can keep the glass in with no problem. I have a Black 07 Avalanche and I swear it is the best money I have ever spent.

@Caliboyz101139 You can leave the glass in place and just fold the midgate down. My sales guy was amazed when I showed him that.
