  • Where can we get tea leaves like this and such in America?

  • ありがと

  • Arigato gosaimasu!I really love that you emphasise that the utensils can be substituted.I think it's not the tools that matter but the mindset.

    Best wishes from Hungary!

  • now where do i get those cakes?

  • this is great. Thank you!

  • This isnt what i wanted i wanted the Yooooouuuuuuh

  • This is a .... great video =^_^=

  • This video was extremely helpful and well put together. Thank you so very much for breaking it down and showing us how to put it back together.

  • I went to DAISO JAPAN in federal way and got all of the tea ceremony things for exactly $10.00 (tax was about $1.00)

  • A truly amazing part of the culture of Japan. Thank you so much for sharing it. :)

  • this is a very helpful video. I am learning about the History and the actual Ceremony. Me and my friends are going to perform a Tea Ceremony for my class on Wednesday so this is and will be very help

  • ^_^ この ビヂオは とてもいいでした。

    ずっと習いました

  • Loved it.

  • Thank you this was very informative.

  • You don't need a ceremony to enjoy Maccha green tea. But it is different from green tea, which is prepared by extraction. To make the dispersion of green tea powder in water, you have to shake it well with shaker.

  • Matcha is ground up green tea leaves but they are ground when the plant is at a young age so the leaves are softer than the older leaves used in normal green tea. Matcha can be prepared in various ways but traditionally in Japanese tea ceremonies they make "thick" tea which is very strong so lots of people dont enjoy it, but its all apart of the experience right? :) You shouls all try it!

  • I went to Wegman's this weekend and saw the maccha jyawa and the whisk, i was so excited, i can't wait to try this!

Is Matcha strong? I've never used actual tea leaves before, only the tea bags, but i hope one day to use only tea leaves (and matcha of corse. ^.^)

  • Its not very strong. Its a sweet tea, though.

  • It's stronger than ordinary tea that is steeped.

  • I hope they also show the part of appriciation of a teabowl's foot after drinking. Good intro of chanoyu. thks

  • PS

I switched to solely tea (90% green usually but sometimes oolong, sometimes black tea [lipton]) a year ago and i havent been sick since. It's even helped th sevrity of my chronic bronchitis. (but i drink a LOT of gren tea 10 - 12 cups a day, cold)

And no im not lying, just fill a 24 oz cup, no ice, with chilled tea and its wonderful.

  • matcha, the green powder you see in this video is essentially ground up gyokuro leaves. gyokuro is regular green tea plant that is just completely shaded for 3 weeks before picking.

  • Drinking a daily cup of tea will surely starve the pharmacist. ~Chinese Proverb

  • Some people claim they drink up to 5 portions a day. I verified the portion size with my jap tea store, and I have been drinking about 3 machas a day on an average for a few weeks.

The only problem is -- that I am more hyperacidic now. Green tea in general is great, but it is acidic. And they say the ideal env for a healthy body is an alkalanized envir. Now with a few ser/day the body Will get more acidic.

    Any help?

  • you are wrong.

    green tea is alkaline.

  • I needed this for my history project, I hafta to perform this.

SO THANKS FOR THE UPLOAD ^^

  • You know what's really awesome? Green tea, with a small clemintine orange.

    HEAVEN!

  • It's a wonderfully healthy drink and I take in like 12 cups a week. I hope to drop coffee from my routine altogether very soon.

  • Original Chinese oolong tea is always best in my opinion.

  • thank you so much for this!

  • i dont get it. i need to learn for a school project!!!

  • What i really love about the tea ceremonies is the art form. how the make the tea and how they move everything just right. I saw it once many years ago. I think it was so beautiful when she did it. so art fully done.

  • I would love to go to one of those tea ceremonies, but I can't kneel anymore. If I could "sit" it out, I'd be fine. I love green tea and Japanese food and culture.

  • how easy is it to get powdered sencha or matcha in the UK?

  • Such a gracious and beautiful culture.

Thank you for sharing this with everyone!

    JM : )

  • That was great! I homeschool my son and I was able to apply this to a lesson :o)

    Thank You!!!

  • I sincereoly respect Eastern cultures. I once visited Japan and China once for three weeks in 1999 and it was an experience I will never forget. This trip also introduced me to the power of green tea. And to this day, I drink 6 cups a day of it. It's very healthy and has a lot of antioxidants that hydrate your entire body. It also fights cancer, lowers cholesterol and blood pressure, and it gives your skin a healthier glow and appearance. And perhaps this is why the Japanese live such long lives

  • you must remember to prepare it correctly though, or almost all the nutrients can be destroyed.Green tea is 20 times more effective in slowing the ageing process than vitamin E,the vitamin C content is four times that of lemon juice, it contains more B vitamins than any other known plant, it is alkaline, so it prevents hyperacidity,it kills microbes responsible for cholera and tooth decay and it contains a substance called 'EGCG', which retards tumor growth...yeah, that's healthy!

  • I find that candied ginger or pineapple works well as a substitute sweet.

  • Good for teaching people

  • Wow! That was great! Thanks for posting.

  • wow, I love the culture of Japan, very wonderful to watch. Nice Video!

  • very enjoyable video. I love the japanese culture and I am currently trying to learn the language. I used to work as a sushi chef and I hope to one day visit Japan for my dream vacation. Thanks again.

  • Nice, I've heard about this from my first Sensei. So much respect taken into consideration with every aspect of each movement. It's an appreciation for everything involved. It's like slowing everything down in your life and really appreciate everything, not just going thru motions haphazardly, not missing all the wonderful things inbetween. haha! It's like 4-play. :) I can see why this is a Samurai ritual. Thanks for sharing this video. Cheers!

  • This is the way that I have seen how its prepared as far as I have seen it, but a real chado or way of tea is a life long study and a real tea ceremony lasts from 1 hour and 30 minuts to four hours depending on how many are being served and which school of tea preperation the preparer is from. Domo Arigato :}

  • So enjoyable! I would like to try this. :)

  • heh, the kettle has more processing power than used with the first moon landing.

  • Very enjoyable to watch! Makes me feel like I am drinking matcha! Thank you for posting your video!

    Mata ah-e masho!

  • This was very helpful to me. Domo Arigato.

  • thank you very much!

  • thank you!

  • this is too causual tea for me...

  • いい勉強になりました。ありがとうございました。

  • tea is not tea. green tea is not black. black is green tea. tea is yummy.

  • huh

  • Pay attention!

  • look the first time i had no clue about japanese tea ceremony. but i'm into drinking the japanese tea. i paid for it in edmonton here in alberta.

  • what's the point?

  • The fact that you have no formal culture because all that they seem to do in the trailer park is drink beer and fight!

  • very good video about tea!

    (=

  • his class made this video! this is awesome! both as a product of your teaching AND the object of their hardwork! :D Also, it gives the viewer a good idea WHY there is a tea ceremony and WHAT it is for ^_^ Thanks for uploading dude!

  • I enjoyed that beautiful and informative presentation very much. Thank you so much for posting it.

  • thank you

  • yes very good. now i know the casual way. a hint for the ones who made this video; i realy would like to sea the traditional way of chado.

  • if not the greatest one of the greatest culture humanity ever had. I think that's why the kikes don't

like talking too much about it. Everything the japanese did under the samurai is in a class of its own. And I meant everthing. Be it tea, textiles, pottery, metal, wood, and of course the japanese house.

  • very good,it's a veritable small film

  • Cool presentation! I've always wondered how the Japanese tea ceremoney works myself. Now i know. I love watching these videos you post. Please don't stop making them ^_^ <3
